Greetings from Oz
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, January 26, 2006 8:37 PM

My name is Mike and I am from Melbourne, Australia.

I am guessing that I won't have to explain where the name "Mike Bravo" comes from, what with all these military modellers on board.  By fortunate coincidence, my real first name is Mike.  Smile [:)]

I have just been bitten by the modelling bug after not having made one since the 70s (yes, another 40-something).  Having discovered Fine Scale Modeling mag I am hooked!

I am looking forward to a marvellous voyage of discovery learning all the new techniques and models, not to mention the new terms.  Photo etching?  What tha?  You use furniture polish now?  Shock [:O]

My interest was always in WWII  aircraft.  My current passion is for Jeeps, especially WWII era or earlier.  My friend has a real "follow me" Jeep from the RAAF ( "L-head" CJ3 I believe) and I intend to put together a model of that.  It will be great to have an actual original to refer to.

Hoping to build up to dioramas in due course,  but have a lot to learn in the meantime.

Good to meet you all.

Cheers,

Mike

Sign - Welcome [#welcome] Mike to the FSM Forums, as the others have said nice to have another Aussie join us.  When you get a chance look up the "Aussie Modellers" thread in the general discussion folder and the Aussie / Anzac group build in the group build folder.
Wayne I enjoy getting older, especially when I consider the alternative.
