My name is Mike and I am from Melbourne, Australia.
I am guessing that I won't have to explain where the name "Mike Bravo" comes from, what with all these military modellers on board. By fortunate coincidence, my real first name is Mike.
I have just been bitten by the modelling bug after not having made one since the 70s (yes, another 40-something). Having discovered Fine Scale Modeling mag I am hooked!
I am looking forward to a marvellous voyage of discovery learning all the new techniques and models, not to mention the new terms. Photo etching? What tha? You use furniture polish now?
My interest was always in WWII aircraft. My current passion is for Jeeps, especially WWII era or earlier. My friend has a real "follow me" Jeep from the RAAF ( "L-head" CJ3 I believe) and I intend to put together a model of that. It will be great to have an actual original to refer to.
Hoping to build up to dioramas in due course, but have a lot to learn in the meantime.
Good to meet you all.
Cheers,
Mike
