Glad to have you join us, there are many of us who are "born again".  Is your last name Lehmann or are you a L. Ehmann? I ask as I work for Ehmann Printworx.

neither, really. the last name is actually spelled Layman, but i like building german armor, i'm german, and never liked the spelling of my last name. **shruggs** i dunno, just a screen name that popped in my head i guess.

I'm in the same boat. The last time I built a kit was was back in 1983. I had nearly 200 on the shelves, my desk, in the closet, hanging from the ceiling. Most were 1/48 scale, WWII aircraft. Then came along marriage, kids, the Army, a job after the Army..... I finally realized I needed to get a hobby- and saw FSM on the shelf at Barnes and Noble. I was (re)hooked.

Some of the things I've found out:
  • I still LOVE it
  • My eyes aren't what they used to be
  • My hand is not steady
  • When the heck did photoetched hit the market?
  • Enamels?
  • Revell and Monogram together?
  • Did I mention I still love it?
Anyway- it's great to be back doing this, even in my own shaky handed, foggy visioned way. They say you can't ever go back. They're wrong! :-)

Hi all.........

Just thought i would drop in and say hi. i used to model muscle cars and military aircraft back in my early adolecence to mid teens. I got away from modeling when i was able to drive. Well, i got married and found myself looking to get into "modeling" again. i started out with model railroading in HO scale, but it never really grabbed me. i guess with both my wife and I having full time jobs, i didn't have the time. well a couple months ago, i was browsing my local hobby shop, and i picked up a couple magezines, fine scale modeler, and military minitures in review. i was hooked. I went back a couple days later and bought a "nashorn" made by dragon models. I learned that after the long break that my modeling skills have really taken a dump.Sad [:(] This is how we learn again though. I have a sherman on deck and can't wait to build that.
