Hey guys and gals, glad to be a part of this forum.  23 year old who just got back into modeling after about a 6 year hiatus.  I mainly build all ranges of aircraft in 1:48 scale, and have just recently bought an A470 Airbrush (apparently they're not too popular around here but whatever).  I'm working my way through some cheap 1/72 scale models to get the hang of the airbrush.  I have a decent desk setup which also doubles as a table for homework.  I enjoy building mainly Russian aircraft from the WWII era up to present day, especially MiG-29's.

I apologize in advance for any stupid questions that I may have and I hope you guys don't mind.

Glad to be here!

Things could be worse. Suppose your errors were counted and published every day, like those of a baseball player. Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off... the right pitch will come, but when it does, be prepared to run the bases.

No need to apologize for stupid questions, only when you give a stupid answer. Azteks have a bad rep here, that's true, but skill will overcome bad rep any old day. Good to have you join us!

So long folks!

Welcome. There are no such things as stupid questions here. Just uninformed modelers. we will go to great lengths to help you in whatever you need answers to. I also build 48th and have not ventured away yet. Cudo's on getting an airbrush. It is the single best tool to improve your models. Your choice of practice models is the perfect way to get results without ruining a good one. I do know a couple of 72 scale modelers that may dissagree but I want to see their idea of a model to practice on? what a 1/144 scale?! Those ten dollar ones were made for a reason. Ok no more scale bashing, enjoy yourself here and don't worry if you can't help answer any questions. There are a bunch of us old, fat, balding...... that never see the light of day 'cause we're in the basement modeling types here to help you newer modelers succeed sooner than we did. We had to figure all this stuff out on our own.

Relax and ask a bunch of questions before and during you first builds and when your done take a couple of quick pics and post them so we can admire your latest masterpiece.

Happy Modeling!

Drew

Howdy yourself.  I take it from the homework comment you're going to the Uni there.  I've got a prof that went through the Anthropology Dept. there.  Good school.  Not big on 48 scale myself.  Well I do have lots of kits in it but those are mostly because I take what I can get and that means a lot of R-M's from Walmart.  I am, however, wanting to build a display of aerobatics teams in 48.  Got any recs for the Swifts?  I've also got a collection of unbuilt kits for several Migs in 72.

Watch it Drew.  Disapprove [V]Wink [;)]  I think my sig says it all.
