CALLING ALL MUSICIANS TURNED MODEL BUILDERS!

I first started out on guitar, moved to alto saxophone, baritone saxophone and then drums.  Played drums for the USAF during my enlistment and had a blast doing it.  I'm back to playing guitar again now after 25 years away from it.  Needless to say it's a whole new learning experience.

Ok im a little late in finding and replying to this thread but...

I played guitar in a blues band in college and for a few years after. Same story here...I got married had a kid and started modeling again. Its much more quiet and cheaper.I have had many guitars over the years,strats ,telecasters, Les pauls, now I only have my Les Paul. Its my favorite a 79 cherry sunburst. As far as amps, i have had them all fender, marshall, tube works, peavy, musicman..ect...I guess thats it.

I intend to keep my telecaster (it is made in USA!!!!!!! most new ones are like Made in Mexico) and probably get myself a Les Paul Classic.  As for amp goes, I have Tubeworks Mosvalve with Marshall speakers.  I probably get a Marshall head sometime in a future (need permission from the wife )  You are absolutely right about how low end amp will make the best guitar sound like a toy.  Just like some people put lowest priced gasoline for their performance vehicles.... As for my bass amp goes, I am using Peavy combo amp, which is nothing spectacular, but works for the time being.  Would love to have GK RB400 with Harke speakers.  But this all depends on whether my wife approves it or not.

Does the 5-string banjo count? If so, I'm in! Of course, this is also making me wish I never sold my black Ibanez Les Paul.

I don't use anything that complex, just OctaMed Sound Studio....hey I'm a drummer...

I play piano/keyboard, guitar and bass guitar.  Used to be a recording engineer, travelled the world and then one day I woke up and realized that I had to do something more meaningful with my life.  Now I just play instruments for fun (or drive my wife nuts with the noise) or to kill some time here and there. 

Aussie1, I used to do lots of MIDI stuff back in the days by using cakewalk, audio logic and notator.

I played drums in various original bands for about 10 years before I got a "real job".

One band I was in had a clip on TV. That was my 15 minutes....

I write music on my PC now, but it's more of a hobby now.

I'm a wanna be rock star, picked up the guitar again about a year and a half ago. 

I have a Godin Freeway Classic electric guitar (light burst... gorgeous) , Fender 212R Amp that I could really******off the neighbors with if I wanted to , and a GNX4 Guitar Workstation that can make any effect you want, including amp and cabinet modeling so there are virtually an infinate amount of combinations to tweak your sound, it's almost overwhelming all the stuff it can do. 

Going to put together a band just for fun to play at parties and the like. 

p.s. almost forgot, I played classical piano for many years as a youngster.

I used to play the electric bass and my ex-wife got pregnant and I had to get a real job to take care of my family. After she left me I got back into building models - and my new wife encourages me in the hobby.
