That's a 427 Ford wedge with dual 4bbl carbs and a ram air set-up thru the inboard headlights. In 64 they put a 427 into a mid-size Fairlane to go against the Dodge and Plymouth Super Stocks. The Galaxie was too heavy to compete. Ford built 100 of them and Gas Rhonda won the NHRA S/S title. This car started the teardrop hood bubble. Here's another view of the whole car:

I've been reading the great info here for awhile but only recently have I decided to get a bit more active. I 've built or started kits in just about every category on this website so I usually look at all the forums, time permitting.
