Also my grandson is interested in getting into modeling bought a revell F15E to start building with him any ideas about other aircraft or armor which might be a good start for a 12 year old |

A good beginner kit may be the Tamiya 1/48 scale military minatures. Why, because there's a selection and plus the suspension doen't have to be articulated, and there's not that many parts. Just make sure not to get something with a lot of road wheels. The Tamiya 1/48 KV-2 or KV-1 tanks are simple, no camo, and not alot of road wheels. Plus the KV-2 had an article on building it in the last issue of FSM. Thus two good beginner kits.
