Found the site while doing a search on Gruppe Fehrmann, and it renewed my interest in 1/35 armor modeling that I left in the early 1980's.
My interest in armor has been a life long thing, now 60 something. I had the good fortune to have been stationed at Aberdeen Proving Grounds for a longtime and spent a LOT of time walking and crawling on and through about every AFV on the base both on display and in the tank parks where the test vehicles were stored. The WWII armor was a lot newer then usually only 18 to 25 years old, lol. Those in the storage parks had a various sized AT hits on them and very interesting to examine.
I got away from modeling and went into history by way of combat diaries, unit diaries, personal accounts, and unit histories. I concentrated mainly on German units due to the variety of vehicles, tactics and formations but also Soviet which is really only now becoming available outside of Russia.
The new armor kits are great compared to the 1970's! I've picked up several of the newer Dragon kits, good stuff ;) Sorry guys I know how much you like the "Magic Tracks", I'm a little lazy and if I'am to spend that much time on tracks they better work, lol, I toss them and use Friulmodel's. Though the "Magic's" are better than the 1970-80 era indy links, I'll pass, I never did say "wow" after glueing them togather like I said after my first two sets of Friulmodel tracks for a Stug III B and Stug III G...wow.
I enjoy reading all your posts, I learn from them, and hope to get back to being a fair modeler again.
