Howdy..
From Texas, North Texas that is, near Sherman.
I'm a sucker for WWII planes, and anything else with a Prop, for that matter. Must admit that Armor looks darn neat, and appears significantly hard to build!
Back in the day - mid to late 1960's - I must have built every airplane kit in the local drugstore :) heck I had to start choosing the "ugly" planes, hehe. (is there such a thing)
Messy affairs, testor's tube glue would never dry fast enough for me. The once the models were built, wel, between the neighbor kid, my Brother, and myself, the model's life exptancy was pretty short
More towards nowaday's..Swore off RC some years back. hated the overall expense, but liked the building aspect. Need to ebay some of the stuff for sure.
Then it was Railroad, lots of building fun, but hey, I need the space for other things!
Recently I was on a Nikon Photography forum, and one of the members posted a shot of a Bell XP-1 (appears to have made the webpage of finescale.com )...and darn, but I got the glue-hook all over again. Joined IPMS. I like "joining" things. hehe.
So far, I have loaded up on some paints, got a new tip for the airbrush.
Seems I also have had this Academy Lavochkin La-7 kit here at home for some years sitting on a shelf begging for attention It was bought as a detail model for a RC Plane that never happened!
so, heck a few online trips and have several other kits on the way (of course), A P400 Airacobra, P40, and a Typhoon.
Got my first question for you guys though,
Are there one or two online places that offer the most in selection (esp detailing items) and also would be nice if they have good shipping turnaround.
Take Care,
Bryan
