Hi Ladies and Gents,
Just a quick intro.
I'm a modeller from Australia, recently (say last six months) got back into modelling after a hiatus of some years.
I'm mainly building aircraft (1/72, 1/8, 1/32 you know the usual suspects) at the moment, though I am into military kits (1/72, 1/35), mainly armour and figures (1/76,1/72,1/35,1/32 and I tired some 1/48. LIke to try some larger e.g. 1/9, 1/6, 90mm, 120mm now that they are that much more accessable) as well, though I have not built so many of those as yet, in this third stage of my modelling career.
Preferrd period, World War II+ for aircraft, vehicles and figures.
I really like the moderns (post 1980) for figures.
I'm loving the fact that large scale (1/32+ ) kits are so much more numerous and compartively cheaper than they were.
I'm also really enjoying the mind boggling range of kits and accesory/detailing kits that are available and accessable now.
Like most people I started modelling when I was a kid, stopped a bit when I was teenaged.
I started a for a year or two very casually modelling in my early 20s while in the Army, and then dropped out again.
There was a very, very occasoinal (say once every 3 years) build.
Now I'm in my late 30s and for the last 6-12 have been buying and building kits galore.
It's almost like a new hobby though, with all the new tools and techniques and access, thanks to both improved finances and the internet to tools and products that I nefver dreamed of using before.
Same with techniques - there is just so much info on technique available via the 'net - it's incredible.
And very very enjoyable.
Any way just wanted to say "Hi" - see you on the boards!
