Hi Brad and Son!( and stress factor #1)....There are general etiquette rules for the entire site.........rules within a GB are generally posted on the opening page.....as are dates associated with the build. Usually, you can just post a query about joining.....naming your subject etc. Then wait for a reply from the head person.

A PM can't hurt, I suspect.

As far as rules on the whole site....read the forums list carefully.....you'll see it. But don't try to abbreviate the word 'assembly'  as  a**'yLaugh [(-D]...the '*' are supposed to be letter 's'

Leave out the apostrophy and it may get thru! Have fun! Lots of help here!

Thanks for the welcome gents!  Sorry for the delay in reply...the day-job's kept me distracted.

Looking forward to signing up to a GB in the coming week or so. Is there any site "etiquette" for doing so? Do you PM the organizer or just jump-in and tell them you want in and what you're going to build?

Still getting use to the site...it took me 5 minutes to figure out how to post this...Laugh [(-D]...I thought hitting "reply" on the final post was going to quote it...I truly named this thread correctly!...LOL

Thanks namrednef for the welcome to my son (or "stress factor #2" as I affectionately call him...Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg] )  I'm hoping he'll get involved too

Hello all...Smile [:)]

Similar to some of the posts that have preceeded me, I've been aware/around the site and receiving the e-newsletter for quite some time...but hadn't discovered the Forums until a friend recommended them yesterday. My previous activity level was such that my account had expired...now, after seeing what's here in the Forums I'm sorry I hadn't explored earlier!

Looking forward to gathering as much knowledge as possible to improve my skills and contribute where I can.

I belong, along with my son, to our local model club and build mostly for fun, although we're planning on entering a contest this year for the first time.

I build everything...Laugh [(-D] ...current WIP's are a Brewster F2A-2 Buffalo, a 2006 Audi R10 TDI and a Sd.kfz2 Kettenkrad German motorcycle tractor. Most recent completed kit: 1:400 SSBN Typhoon class Russian Submarine.

Excited about the Group Builds...sounds like a great way to keep the motivation up on those projects where enthusiasm dwindles.

Just happy to have finally found out what I was missing...Big Smile [:D]

Cheers

Brad
