It's Me!
Posted by Big E on Thursday, June 26, 2008 2:51 PM

Greeting from sunny Dorset! (Well it would be if it was'nt raining!!!!)Cool [8D]

Just thought I would take the opportunity to introduce myself and say how much I have enjoyed the site in my first few days of membership. I am new to the world of forums but can see that I will learn a great deal from the world of modellers out there and look forward to some interesting debates.

My main interests are armour 1/35 (I am also experimenting with 1/48) be it allied, axis or modern, with a slight favouring for German (WWII) and modern. I have also been known to dabble in the word of helicopters, mostly 1/48 but like the larger 1/35. Basically if its a kit, of anything and in any scale I will build it and enjoy every second, modelling is my escape from the stresses of work and my excuse for not finishing the DIY!

I am also an avid collecter of shell ejecting replica firearms, i.e model 1:1 scale firearms. You can feild strip them like the origionals and the fire them just like the real thing. Well they don't fire projectiles just brass "bullets" filled with precussion caps that enable the waepons to fire and reload themselves just like the real thing, even on fully automatic! My MP40 is a the dogs whatsits when seen emptying a full magazine at night (sparks, flames and noise-the neighbous love me Big Smile [:D]) and if you blink you will miss the Mac 11 on full automatic as it empties a 30 round clip in 2 seconds!!

Well there we are, a very short introduction but I look forward to our conversations in the future and when I have built my confidence I will post some of my builds for you opinions and advice on how I can improve, but be gentle because fat man do cry.....and it usually gets quite messy!!Dinner [dinner]!!

Cheers,

 Big E

Your firing models sound very interesting!  May have to get one of those for me-self. Evil [}:)]

I do miss the days of firing a weapon on full auto.

It's always a good thing to have another gun nut around.
