Gave away my age right there, eh?Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Thanks for the welkommen, all...

As for ambitious projects, I believe that Von Klugermann's crash is going to be the most difficult project.  I've decided to depict Willie's Dr1 (Revell 1/28th scale Fokker Dr1) at the moment of impact with the stone ruins.  Sketching it out is wearing my remote out freeze-framing and rewindingThe Blue Max, lol...

I'll keep y'all up to date in the Diorama forum...

Howdy.

What a deal to find this site.  I've been out of scale modeling for about the last ten years, but I'm back at it with a vengence now that I've retired from the Army and have ZERO plans for doing much else constructive.  I'd spent a lot of my spare time in WW1 flight simulators (hence the screen name.  You old farts will recognize it, lol.), but modeling is my real passion. My specialty is WW2 aircraft and armor dioramas, with some drag racing and muscle car kits thrown in for good measure.  I'm amazed at what has come down the pipeline in the last 10 years...

Now that I've spent a LOT money in the last two weeks getting resupplied in paints, tools, and other stuff, I'm digging into those kits I had gathering dust for years and loving every minute of it.   My current projects are a dio of the scene from the movie Kelly's Heros in which Oddball fires a paint round into the Tiger tank and the Tiger's gun is unable to traverse to the rear to engage, a dio of the battle at Ramel in which the paratroopers are swarming the Tiger tank just prior to the Flak 38 opening up on them, and the crash of Willy von Klugermann in his Fokker Dr I in the Blue Max...  Maybe I watch too many movies, eh?
