Challenge accepted MC,  this shall be, until overcome by a better way, the unofficial official roster of folks who can or want to join in the amazing fun and comradery born from the AMAZING 2021Las Vegas Nationals.

Simply thread, lets make soft commitments now and solidify as the time comes closer. Post what you may bring, what " special" kit your looking for, T-shirt sizes, etc. Don't be afraid this is a no judgement zone.

Come, be yourself, and enjoy the company of middleaged sometimes overweight, out of shape glue sniffers to create memories that will last a life time.

While I have intitated this thread I think it will self perpetuate and may be as grand as the famous Tojo72 " Latest Acquisitions" thread.

    Lets go guys.

I can kick it off. Will be interested to see what their "specials " are for sure. since I'm driving will get lots ready...maybe even commit to a carrier but i have to finish my sub 1st and it will never be contest worthy as i started it decades ago with less skill than I have now.

This agressor is guaranteed to make an appearance...

Chad, you would have just had a blast with the mob from this year. All of them were right up your proverbial personality alley. You will be able to meet some of them and hopefully more.

I'm planning on the 8 to 10 hours on your feet strolling through the model room or the vender room, stoping to talk to each other or the vendors. Then running into the model room to see if you won a raffle, then doing it all over again the next day.

For ships I'm planning on the 350 Takao and possably the North Carolina or Prince of Wales.
A 1/72 Sunderland with detail and a Monogram Do 335 OOB.

And maybe something else, possably something 1/32 depending on how much time I have left.

It just srtuck me that I did not commit even softly to bring finished kits to the 2022 Nats.....shame on me.

I have an Italeri Sdkfz 140, Tamiya Marder I, Tamiya T38 Pzkw 38t. Plus a few more....HOWEVER Murphy usually has a way of goofing up my plans.

One thing for sure my wife and I are already planning on being there. Murphy won't muff that upSmile

I got married in 93, so I cannot forget that year LOLBig Smile

I did remember the cool remodeling job you did on the house you had that had the loft.  You were working on a /1200 scale Victory I think.  That stood out because I was building a Heller Royal Louis and was comforted that someone else had an interest with something with sails.

Yeah, I'd have to say it was mid 91 that I left Havre and went to Alaska on isolated duty

I often think about that house. I loved that old thing and still have a small picture of it next to my building table. Kinda 1/1 scale build so to speak. My first remodel of many houses. Too fat, old and hurt too much to do anything like that anymore.

Well mates, I am thinking seriously of being at Omaha. I would love to meet all of you in person and the thought of attending a seriously big OS event is mind blowing. But it will of course depend on funds and covid. Apparently the jabs we have recieved are not recognised in the US, but maybe I can get around that. It will also depend on the health of the missus.

Glad ya found the thread Dodgy, I plan on dragging my wife with me to Omaha, she is excited to meet the women behind the " Mob".    Pets and cash would be hang ups for me but it's a ways out so I have time.

I feel I might have created a " housewives of model builders" with my comment of " the women behind the Mob".......OMG WHAT HAVE I DONE??IndifferentZip it!

It would be super great to meet ya Dodgy. I understand completly about the money. It's a one and a half day drive for us but I still need to do some serious saving to get there. We have a furbabysitter for our kids but that's still $50 a day....adds up.

I thought everybody had the same stuff for the Covid shot. The US sent tons of the stuff around the world but I guess we couldn't supply several billion doses. What do I know?

As Armornut says, it's a ways of yet, so hopefully something will be sorted by then. This new AUKUS commitment might improve things too.

Don't know if I'll be able to bring anything even if we get there, but who knows?????

Bumping the thread with a little new info. By the looks of the IPMS web site hotel registration started on the 15th of October 2021. Appears rooms range from 135 to 195/ night.

I'm planning on the details of my trip but it is still a ways off..

I grabbed mine right away. And they were going fast I was surprised. Now all I have to do is get out to give plasma a couple times before the end of October so I can start saving!

Yeah, I got mine on the 15th when it opened up. Wed night through Saturday night, 4 nights stretch, that's a bill. Probably as much as I would spend at the vendor tables.

Do the vendors take credit cards or do you have to bring a bankroll?  Always wondered.

I found a mix in Vegas WW, I used cash and never found an ATM, HOWEVER that was at a Casino where they rather you put money into machines rather than take it out.

I was concerned about carrying a big wad of bills but honestly security was no problem, never felt threatened.

I did have my bank card with me though and yes I did see vendors take cards.

Maybe you'll join the FSM Mob for a meet and greet?

I'm only a couple of hours away in central Neb so it's on my to do list for '22.  No clue as to what models I might bring, but definitely up for fun and fellowship. Sure my wife would be thrilled!

The hotel prices in that area are nuts.

If I go, I will be driving, and don't mind driving ten minutes for a hotel at half or two thirds the cost.  Looks like parking won't be a problem.

Driving from Washington is my plan, I have summers off so I can dilly dally if I like. I'm also not opposed to a cheaper off site hotel, I also have a big enough vehicle that if the Mob wants to go somewhere most can ride with me.

We will make it work....like my tag line says " we are modelers..it's what we do".
