DISCUSSIONS ABOUT THE SITE AND FORUMS
Posted by tankerbuilder on Friday, January 11, 2013 9:01 AM

HI:

I need to start off by saying that whatever the changes ,that this site has undergone , I will remain loyal and try to follow the rules. I for one , of course build ships , I also do a few ARMOR pieces and the occassional AIRCRAFT . What I don,t understand is this .YES , I have been somewhat peeved about grammatacists ripping my posts.

With perseverence I have tried to correct that .Now , as to posting of NUDE females and CURSING .I was always told there are other words that convey the same thing , and they are NOT offensive ! If I want to see a NUDE female that is NOT NOSE ART on a WW 2 bomber I'll go to the PLAYBOY site ! This is NOT the place for that !

All who read this may think I am taking the " company " line here and , you know what , I don't care ! I think that KALMBACH deserves to set rules for this site and any others they may have . They just have provided US with a way to SHARE MODELING skills and info .

When you decide you want a free for all on line then there is something basically wacked about that . I can express myself without offending , I think , Most of the readers and responders . To me there is a lack of courtesy today that permeats ALL levels of society .YES , I miss MANNY and others .I got a kick out of 90% of his posts .He obviously did something he shouldn't have . I don't know the story , so , I won't speculate .

Personally , I ,  as an old man and a very old model builder ,  I am Grateful , YES , Grateful to have this site to come to . I go to other sites and many are NOT here in the states . I would rather communicate with the modelers here.At least they are familiar with what we have here in the way of models , supplies , and refferrence material .

So that said I have to go to work . TIM , AARON , you may NOT always be right in the eyes of some , BUT , you have my respect and loyalty .        Tanker-builder.

I concur.

I would also like to add that if the only thing someone can rip you about is grammar, you must me doing OK in terms of what matters here; modelling skill, research, accuracy.

I build 1/48 scale WW2 fighters.

Have fun.

I agree with you.I still enjoy being here and posting when I could. We lost some of the oldtimers but we also seemed to gain lots of new members.Traffic isn't what it used to be,but it still is a good place to post.

that being said,I enjoy other forums too, including the one that many of the old FSM's have immigrated too.All of the forums have their diffrent personalities, and something can be gleaned from most of them.

However, they all have rules to guide us which is fine, otherwise chaos will rule.

Roger all of the above.  But I still miss the dry wit and humor of one of the recently banned members.

This is a good forum, and it seems to have returned to the polite exchanges of info for which it was intended.  I will stick around, and offer whatever helpful advice I can.

Gimme a pigfoot, and a bottle of beer...

Looks like he's headed in the right direction to me. Rules are rules. Don't like em?????? Dont be here. If you can abide by them............remain and be a part of the good things that are here. My two cents, Joe
