LEGOS ? ? ?
Posted by tankerbuilder on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 8:24 AM

Here's one for you . How a major sized TIGER TANK or a PATTON TANK from LEGOS ? In desert pink. Along with a M1A1 ABRAMS !  I have a neighbor that did it .My thing of course is ships , but , lately I've been acquiring LEGO train stuff .Those of you who crossover from trains will appreciate this . You scratch - builders will to . How about a complete model of the SANTA FE station in L.A. with full interior ?

I have a LUG (LEGO USERS GROUP ) member friend that does historical train stations and yes , the trains too . Can you picture a model of a BALDWIN locomotive from the fifties. When they set up  tables for a two day stint at the train show they always include planes and ships .One of the meanest A-10 - WARTHOG models I've ever seen was built from LEGOS .Now there is something for you to think about .The young one that builds can crossover to regular modeling , because he or she has already learned patience and to think things out BEFORE doing the build .Well ,there you have it .     Tanker-builder     P.S. I have a LEGO train I will run at the NEW BRAUNFELS , TEXAS , RAILROAD MUSEUM . I would like to meet more scratchbuilders ,who come through there .

I remember making a pretty accurate 1/72 Phantom back when I was in about grade 7 or 8.  Even had the correct angle on the wingtips and tail plane.

I build 1/48 scale WW2 fighters.

Have fun.

Wow, COOL stuff! I LOVED Legos when I was younger!

There are some MONDO-huge things in front of the Lego store in Disney---a huge fire-breathing dragon, shooting fire at a knight. It's got to be 12-15 feet long, and 10 feet high? It's breathtaking!

Those ships are superb!!!

interstingly, a few years agoy wife got me a LEGO Sopwith Camel and Fokker Dr.1.  Turns out, they are about 1/24 scale, as memory serves, and fairly well detailed.

One of the video producers two offices down from me has the Dr.1 built on his desk. It is impressive.

HI TIM !

As an aside to this .You remember the " TOY STORY " movies , right ? Well , in the one they have the little green army men ,doing their thing . LEGO has those little green men ,their jeep and their armaments . Remember , LEGO , unlike "MEGA BLOKS" and others does NOT do conflict (modern war ) models or model kits . If it is part of the story line , it will be there though . Now , what I like about them , besides the trains is the aircraft they produce

I have one of the early four engined jet airliners .Darned if it doesn't remind me of the last of the 707 series ! The fuselage is formed of the proper shaped smooth units too . the doors even open like a plane . Just thought I would add this .     Tanker-builder .   Oh , P.S. did you know they have the perfect hulls for the smaller transfer tankers that ply AMERICAN waters ?Just a pile of bricks , one of the hulls and viola ! you have one and it looks pretty decent too .
