Thanks for sharing that article checkmateking2. I had been telling my wife that story about their reunion ritual just a few days ago. I was an Air Force kid and grew up mostly in Fort Walton Beach as my dad was often stationed at Eglin. The Doolittle Raiders Memorial B-25 stood gate guard there for as long as I can remember (it has been relocated I think) and my old man often told me the Raider's story. Later, I joined the Navy and was stationed on a carrier homeported at Alameda Naval Air Station where they loaded the B-25s onto the Hornet. That same ship that I was assigned to, the Ranger, in 1992 held the Doolittle Raiders 50th Commerative Re-enactment of the raid. General Doolittle was there, but I was not.
I'm from the government and I'm here to help.
