In order to make the link above into a hot link, you have to insert it using the

Use rich formatting function at the lower right of the box.

I'm from the government and I'm here to help.

In order for this to work, use "Rich formatting", as subfixer said, and the paste the link here, and then hit the icon--5th from the right--and insert the link AGAIN in there. This will give you a "hotlink" as I have done here. I couldn't get this to embed the actual image--you need a dedicated "image code" for that. In that case, you would use the 8th icon from the right.

Open the pic u want to share in flikr. There will be three icons in the lower right of the screen, one of them is "more ways to share" (looks like a box with a curved arrow pointing out of it). Click the icon an a new box will open. you will have the option of html or bbcode. for a "hotlink"as in doogs reply select the html code radio button. If you want the pic to display in the post you want the "bb code " option. You will also have the option of which resolution you wish to use. I use the 1024*768 option to post pics here. Just copy the four (i think) lines of code supplied and paste them straight into your forum post, . The pic is "live" and when clicked in the forum post will open it in flickr where ppl can view the full res pic if they want. And do make sure you have the use rich formatting option selected as already noted. If this still makes no sense to you ( it didnt for me at first either) just say and i will do some screenshots of the process to walk you through it.

the code should look like this, i have altered it though to make it not display the pic so ut wont be identical

"ur=htt://www.flickr.com/photo  s/77084890@N04/9487569662/][imgttp://farm3.st  atiflickr.com/2839/9487569662_86173a33e8_b.jpg[/img][  /url] urlhtp://www.flickr.com/photos/77084890@N04/9487569662/]DSC02500url] by urlhtp://www.flickr.com/people/77084890@  N04/]omgpainful/url], on Flickr"

and this is how it should display. the first two lines show the pic, the second two add the text underneath and can be deleted if you wish.
