Did it ever occur to you guys that the model may have been built by a kid?

It is definitely "kid built". But the bidders' sanity must be questioned.

One time while on vacation, my wife and I were in the art section of a big-box store. We saw a large wall hanging for sale, a painting of a man on a burro with coffee bags slung over it. It was very kitschy and deco. We had the money for it, but it was Christmas and we were trying to save for the trip home, so we didn't buy it. We've regretted that choice ever since. So much so, that our family now has what we call "The Burro Rule", where, if we see something very cool that we may not see again in the future, we have to buy it no matter what.

I would definitely buy this, citing "The Burro Rule". I may go bid right now. There's something about it that hearkens back to my own childhood of crappy models. We were all in this place once and we shouldn't forget that. Heck, buying it may make the seller's day. You never know.

You know, that actually makes a LOT of sense. One has to seriously question the sanity of the bidders---unless, of course, they are "family" providing a good "boost" to the kid's ego and confidence. In that case, it's actually an understandable thing going on there.

HOWEVER---this "Kid" has 2,551 feedback scores? Maybe a parent, perhaps--but it's hard to get a logical read on it.

The "Kid" is also selling "Adult Items" so maybe not a kid seller
