Oh gee! I visited just a few years ago, if you're a Corvette fan you have to see the museum! The Sky Dome is gorgeous not to mention the beautiful cars- that's just friggin' awful to hear!

supposedly, it claimed the 1,000,000th Corvette....I've driven past it many time, but never stopped. I should probably do that some day.
Wow, that is terrible.
I found a link with some pics - http://www.theverge.com/2014/2/12/5404326/eight-cars-swallowed-by-20-foot-sinkhole-in-national-corvette-museum

Ouch, right in the middle- that really, really, sucks...
I'm not too surprised though, it's near Mammoth Caverns, the whole area is criss-crossed by caves and underground passages. I'd assume there are some serious foundations underneath the museum though.
After all Fort Knox isn't that far away and you know what sort of security they have...

I keep hitting "escape", but I'm still here.

Oh, yeah, Geezer, you definitely need to visit that museum. Just incredible. I went with my then-fiance (now wife of 6.5 years) back in 2006, and was impressed with the collection of Corvettes and other bits of automotive history that they have there. Way too bad about the sink hole, though. Seems the US is having quite a few of them happen in the past few years.......

Build one at a time? Hah! That'll be the day!!
Hi , Geeze !
Listen , that Museum was the cat's meow for Vettes . Now I wonder , Is there a recovery service that can get those cars out of the hole with no more damage ? It can be done, But they have to use a crane and apply some boat lifting technology to keep any more damage from occurring > Gees , that's a bummer .
