Hobby shops in Dallas/Ft. Worth, Charlotte, Nashville
Posted by BarrettDuke on Thursday, March 20, 2014 8:11 PM

I'm headed to Dallas/Ft. Worth, Charlotte, and Nashville, TN soon. I always enjoy visiting the local hobby shops when I travel to see what they have. Tracking down LHS on the Internet can be really tough. Anyone know of some good ones, especially mom and pops, that carry WW II era armor models in these cities?

Right now, I'm building a Bronco Models kit I found at King's Hobbies in Austin. It's a German 10.5cm howitzer mounted on a captured French Hotchkiss H39 chassis. I didn't even know there was such a thing. It still says Hotchkiss on the front! The literature says there were 48 of them in the 21st Panzer Division.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi, BarrettDuke. I live just a tad east of Charlotte in Indian Trail, NC, and, unfortunately, the only hobby shops in the Charlotte area are HobbyTownUSA x2, Hobby Lobby (many), and a Michaels or two. No mom-n-pop hobby shops that I know of. Sorry........

The Hobby Town shops are really quite good. The one in Charlotte off Rt 51 ( Pineville- Matthews Rd)  via 485 had a decent selection of armor.

Most definitely. I was at that particular one just last Saturday. But, I think BarrettDuke is looking for shops that aren't part of a nation-wide chain.
