Just got an email looking like its from Paypal stating I had unusual activity on my account. I did buy a few things on Ebay and figured this may be the reason but I did not click on any link but rather went into my saved favorites to access my account and everything looks correct. I called Paypal and they advised they never sent that email so it was forwarded to their security dept. for investigation. Remember not to fall for this trick and never click on any links on the email.
Too many models to build, not enough time in a lifetime!!
I reported (forwarded) the email to spoof@paypal.com
Yeah, I get those occasionally. Just send them to the link Rob posted--it helps them track them and catch the people. Or maybe not. I treat ALL emails saying "There's a problem with your account" as suspicious. 99/100 times they're fraudulent.
Yes I forwarded as soon as I got it. just passing the word.
You can call PayPal on the phone?

Thanks for the heads up! Alerts like this are very valuable to us that use it! I had my Debit Card hacked and that was a nightmare getting all that crap fixed. So like I said, thanks for the warning! Will keep an eye out!

You are welcome Cody.
Guys, this isn't new.....it's been going on since the 2001.

I'm sure it's not new but it hasn't happen to me till now. A lot of naïve people click on that link and spill their guts with their personal info. Just passing the word out.
Greg, any info on this is a plus. Sure stuff like this has been going on but usually it runs in streaks. So an alert by another will keep others on their toes in the near future. I always am very careful what I click on. However, an extra reminder never hurts.
I get these phishing e-mails about once or twice a year. I just forward them to my IP provider and block the domain.
