I remember that NARF meant Naval Air Rework Facility, and that NADEP was Naval Aviation Depot, but I can't figure out what FRC could mean when it comes to working on aircraft. What does it mean?

Hey, USMC, congratulations! Is FRC the new name for NADEP, which was the new name for NARF?

@ jtilley-  Yes sir this area is great, I grew up here and wasn't ever stationed here. I spent a good share of time in Greenville too, especially when I was with a National Guard unit in Winterville. Once I get settled in the work environment I might have to see if I can find him

Congratulations! I think you'll find eastern North Carolina a pretty congenial place.

I have a stepson, Byron Prezell, who's a civilian machinist at the helicopter repair facility at Cherry Point. After he got out of the Navy he went through the machine technology program at Pitt Community College; he did his apprenticeship at Cherry Point, and has been there ever since. I know it's a huge base, but it seems possible that you'll run into him.

My wife and I live in Greenville, a little more than an hour from Havelock.

Youth, talent, hard work, and enthusiasm are no match for old age and treachery.

Good news, got my start date for my new job
Posted by USMC6094 on Thursday, June 12, 2014 7:40 PM
I've been in the hiring process for a job at FRC East at MCAS Cherry Point since May, 9 June I took my required physical and today I got the call to give me my official start date, June 30th I will be back in the workforce and getting paid better than I ever have before. And I'll be working on helo's instead of fixed wings, but any job turning a wrench is better than what I've done in the recent past, especially when I get to learn a new(to me) type, model, series aircraft.
