For all of my working years my wake-up time was 5 am or earlier. When I was much younger I could do with 3-4 hours of sleep and do a full workday. The older I got the more sleep I needed. Now I'm retired and I go to bed when I want and get up when I want, getting anywhere from 6-10 hours of sleep a night. I wish I could still get by on 3-4 hours a night but you gotta do what the body requires.

Being a "Retired Old Fart", my sleep time has changed a lot. I usually don't get to bed before 1 or 2 AM (Eastern). I wake up around 3 or 4 AM for a trip to the powder room. If I can't get to sleep right away, I hit the workbench or the Forums until my eyelids start slamming shut. I'm usually awake longer if it's the workbench.

Most times I'm posting by 4 a.m. though and after preparing breakfast for my wife and son will hit the bench for 20-40 minutes before leaving for work at 5:45 a.m.

I work an evening shift, 2pm to midnite, so I rarely get to bed before 1am. Sometimes I will get screwball modeling ideas at those late hours (yeah, let's fully detail the interior of a B-26 with minimal or no aftermarket stuff). Often I will check in on here before I hit the sheets just to see if anything catches my interest. But I usually get a good 7-8 hours sleep per night after that...

I am on the west coast. I find that I'm usually the last poster of the day. The Oz guys are just getting up tomorrow when I turn in.

I leave for work at 2 PM (Eastern) and by the time I get home and shower, it is normally 2 AM by the time head's on the pillow.

Between 1-4am EDT, I'm at work and models are the last thing I'm thinking about.

Yeah, sometimes when I can't sleep I pull out the cell phone and check the site. Don't post since I can't hit the buttons on the touch screen but it does indicate that I'm online.

And we have people from all over here, not just the US/Canada/Mexico and UK but members in Australia/New Zealand,  Austria, the Philippines, South Korea, Japan, etc so I'd guess someone is posting in some time zone all around the clock...

At the time of posting, it's nearly 10am in the UK, time for a coffee break!  (not everybody on this site is in the states, btw...)

Everyone is different, & have different sleep needs, but If your individual sleep pattern is causing you distress,  avoid caffeine, alcohol or any 'recreational stimulants' for a few hours prior to your preferred rest period.

If you still can't sleep, just chill, read, listen to talk channel on the radio, do some modeling, avoid the TV, & sleep when you are tired.

Consider talking to your doc, or trusted confidant, re any underlying medical/social issues, as sleeping tabs may knock you out, but won't let you rest, & certainly won't deal with the stressy stuff!

If it's noisy neighbours, then earplugs may be the best option.

Or it could be that you are getting to be an old 'crusty git' (like me) & simply need less sleep!
