Well, after building ship sized aircraft ( teensy things ) I believe you will be very satisfied if you follow the directions and the tips on paper folding , bending and shaping I gave .Good luck . Tanker - Builder

Thinking of doing the P-40 to see what they are all about and see where it goes before digging into the Mustang, if I ever do.

Hello!

If you like paper aircraft models, there are many companies in Poland that design them in 1:33 scale. Some of them aresimple and build up fast, some of them are very detailed. Lots of subjects covered, too. You have WWI fighters, lots of WWII aircraft, but also modern jets and helicopters, many of the mentioned have detailed engines and even more of them have complete interiors. There is a model of the B-17, B-24 and B-29 in 1:33 scale. There is a model of the C-130 - when built looks a bit like fire extinguisher with wings (I mean the overall shape, not the detail level!). I personally own a 1:33 model (unbuilt) of the B-52 - when built, it will measure 1,4m long and 1,7m wingspan. So please take a look/google - it's worth it. Good luck with your builds and have a nice day

The first paper model I built was a P-40.  It was a cereal premium.  With Kix boxtops you could send in a boxtop and a modest amount and receive your choice of a P-40 or a Zero.  These were flying scale models.  The nose weights were pennies.  They flew so-so, but they were quite nice looking for a forties vintage paper kit.

Yesterday I stopped at the WAAAM museum in Hood River, OR to get some pics.  They mostly have aircraft, Cars, and motorcycles from the teens to the 40's, and some newer muscle cars.  The real reason was to get pics of the Staggerwing.  Found out it was on loan, and was sold.  They didn't have the funds to purchase nor could they find support from any doners to purchase it, so it is no longer there.

Lesson learned and to pass on......TAKE PICS WHEN YOU HAVE THE CHANCE.....may never come again.

Anyway, in the gift shop ran across two cardstock 1/32 PMI kits (Paper Models International), P-51D and P-40 for $5.00 each.  Grabbed both of them with both hands like I was daring someone to try and pry them loose.Huh?  Never fooled with paper/cardstock stuff before so will be interesting in the future.

Also found a book, picture/short bio on each, of aircraft at the USAF Museum, for the $5.00 price.  Needless to say it found it's way into my bag as I left.  Wallet was a little lighter but that is OK......
