Hi John. The picture size is a product of what you have on your hosting site. For example:

I use Imageshack and upload a picture from my computer resized to large.

Or medium

Or small

Or thumbnail

Or even avatar

The picture I pick will be the size that gets uploaded to the site.

I hope that is what you were asking.

Steve

Edit: The large pic came through as medium, but you get the idea.

Fox, I do not see a search box for each forum. Is this an option you have to turn on?

GMorrison, I have an awful problem with Google. Is there someplace I can go to find instructions for writing a detailed search?

I am like the guy who worked for Ford Motor Company and built cars for a living but could not drive. When someone asked how he could work for Ford and not be able to drive he replied "I don't need to drive to build them.". I create web applications for a living and must be one of the stupidest users of all time.

At the beginning of each section such as Aircraft there is, on the right hand side, a search forums box. It tightens up the search area to that section.

I don't expect there's an answer for the part about the pics, I'll just have to find a happy balance.

Yes, the Forum Technical Assistance

is the one to look at.  It usually does have threads on posting photos.

Funny too, google searches this forum pretty well. In fact that's how I found it back in 2007.

If you write a fairly detailed search, you'll see old threads pretty often.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

Ah, got it.  I'm used to the phbBB format, where the search at the top allows you to search by section, poster, text in subject line, text in body, etc.

And thanks, Don, I'll take a look.

There is a section of the forums, down near the bottom, that deals with how to use the forums.  Be sure to check that out.

I know the feeling.  My computer and phone are both smarter than I am and they take great delight proving it all the time.  Even my didgital watch laughed at me, but now that it's dead, I can go back to a numbered type again.  Shame I have to check my phone to see what the day is.  They get the last word again.

I wouldn't worry about asking a question that may have been asked before, some people may say something about repition, but so what, sometimes you just have to.  No big deal.

What were you looking for?

Welcome to the Forums! Glad to have you aboard!

I think I can help with the first question. I'll give it a try. At the beginning of each section such as Aircraft there is, on the right hand side, a search forums box. It tightens up the search area to that section. It sometimes takes a while to get the wording of your question right to get the answer that you are looking for.

I'm an old fart (76) who is very computer eliterate. The book "Computers for Dummies" is WAAAAAY over my head so I won't even try to answer your second question but I am sure that in very short order you will get quite a few answers.

Hope that I helped a little. Hang in there.

Hi, I'm new to the board and have a few questions.

First, is there a search feature that lets you search a particular section?  That one at the top is very generic and not giving me the resulats I expected... and I don't want to ask the same question that's been asked a hundred times before.

Second, on my browser, user posted pics are kinda small.  I can Ctrl + the screen to make them bigger but then the text is gigantic.  And if I click on them, instead of a larger pop-up picture, it downloads to my browser.  Any help on the one?

Thanks
