I have never built that kit, and like the looks of it.  You did a fine job and it does look good next to another Navy jet.

Thanks!  I thought the Fury looked kind of lonely on the wall all by itself, lol.

Hi;

     I certainly have had fun reading and following , Keyda . I went from planes to ships because we use what is called " Ground " frequencies .

 That plus I was involved in warship battles for a time .That can be fun , but expensive . Anyway . I think you need a Marine Corps Harrier on the wall with the A-7 And F-4-J Fury . What about it , are you game ?

Does this one count?  It's hanging above the entertainment stand right near the A-7 and the Fury.

Keyda, some really nice builds thanks for sharing them with us.  The only problem I see is one of scale.  If you built in the One True Scale (1/72), think of all the room you'd have.  For display cases, if you have an IKEA nearby, their Billy bookcase with glass doors is what you need. Depending on the size of the aircraft you can get 5-6 1/72 WW2 fighters per shelf.  In 1/48, probably 2-3 per shelf.  Look forward to more of your builds.

Keyda, decor is the word. Here's a couple more from the overflowed Museum. My wife has her own rooms but really likes the historical motorcycle that I raced a half century ago. (Hmm, the P-40 is also that old, yikes!) Also being a photographer eats up most wall space. I think I have too many hobbies but what could be better decor than one's passions? I think I'm outta space! Sad

Max,

If you haven't been there, you really need to go to Barber Motorsports Park Museum in Birmingham, Alabama.  It's one of the best museums I've ever been in. Over 2500 bikes in the collection, and several hundred on display at any one time. Sorry for the thread jack.

Oh Yes;

 You know , for some reason , when I first saw the plane I fell madly , madly into enthrallment with this bird . I think , even though other types have come into being .The Harrier in all it's iterations is just Neat and Mean .

 It can have any country's markings on it , But load it up and , Mean is the only term that comes to mind . It's kind of like Ships .Certain ones are just deadly and beautiful at the same time.  I like that .  T.B.

I first seen one in action 2 summers ago at the airshow.  It was awesome watching it just hover there!  Hopefully they will have it again next summer.

Keyda 81;

   The nice thing to see with a Harrier is one , All Bombed  up , doing the Vienna Waltz at a hundred feet from the ground .That is one Nimble Bird . I believe it also takes a very good Pilot to get the best out of that bird . T.B.

Keyda, I'm afraid I must tell you there is a VERY big problem here. You do not have a Tamiya F-14 Tomcat anywhere in sight!

Now don't go telling me you only do Air Force: that F-18 sticks out like a sore thumb! Big Smile

Seriously, that's a real nice collection and I don't see any problem with it(except for the lack of a Tomcat.)

If you can afford it, I highly recommend Tamiya's new Tomcat. Closest thing to a "fall together" kit out there. I'm starting on my second one, a third is in the stash, and I'm planning on buying at least six more as money comes available.

Yep, I think she needs to add some 'cats to the collection.... Wildcat, Hellcat, Tigercat, Panther, Tomcat.....well that's the idea anyway.Big Smile

But the ones in the household already might get green with envy.....

Lol!  I was eyeballing that Tamiya kit at my local hobby store not more than a few hours ago!  It's rather pricey though.  An F-14 is on my wish list, that is for sure.  There are quite a few others on my wish list as well, I'm pretty sure a wildcat, and hell cat are on there.

The F/A-18 does stick out like a sore thumb, lol.  That is the only Marines one until I do "Fat Albert"

Keyda,

The only problem I see is lack of space. Like I presently have. As a child my bedroom had many airplanes flying from my ceiling many years ago.

Soon When I move I hope to have a whole squadron or group of B-17's hanging in my living room, and B-24's. I all 1/72nd scale. Some almost as old as I am.. built 50 plus yeaars ago.

Tim

“A C-130 that can do anything can’t always do everything. In 1980, A follow on rescue scheme, Operation Credible Sport, added large retro-lifting, and takeoff rockets, to a YMC-130H with the idea of landing in Tehran's soccer stadium and flying the hostages out. During the first landing trial, the shattered aircraft was destroyed by fire. Before a second effort could be mounted. " Air & Space August 2004 page 43 Carl Posey

Space is an issue fro sure.  I got hubby's permission to start hanging them in our bedroom.  I'm not sure if I'm going to risk damaging them by moving the older ones to the bedroom, and displaying the newer ones in the living room.  We'll see as I go I guess, lol.
