What about that raccoon? Seriously I see no problem. Aside from maybe needing more display shelves

Actually I am, lol.  Been married for almost 13 years now.  Hubby shakes his head at me from time to time, but he deals with my craziness, and I deal with his hobbies.  He does tell me I go overboard sometimes, but I'd have to agree with him.  I think it works out because I have the living room, and he has the addition on the back of the house.  Most of my stuff stays in the living room, and most of his stays in the backroom.  We each have our own space.  Now if only my daughter would follow those rules, and keep her stuff in her bedroom, lol.

Problem?  I don't see a problem. 

I've been told the same thing.  My wife passed away and I'm a single parent with a huge bedroom.  I took one whole wall in the bedroom and put shelves floor to ceiling, side to side.....and I'm running out of room.  Overboard?!  Nahhhh!  LOL!  As long as both of you enjoy each other and each others hobbies. 

Great builds by the way!  Keep up the super work!

I don't see any problem either. I'm soooooooo jealous. All mine are crammed into the spare bedroom that is my workroom except the ship model (my avatar) that I built for the wife when she wanted a ship for the den that she redecorated.

I always wanted a woman who shared my intetests, now that I have seen your collection, I think we would have SERIOUS problems. LOL. Congrats on 13yrs, my wife and I celebrated 17 yesterday. So in your opinion, or your husbands, which is worse many built kits decorating the house or 250 unbuilt between the house and storage unit?

The problem I see is a lack of submarines and armor. 

We have been married for 32 years and my wife encourages me in my hobby and even suggested for me to take over a larger guest room as my man cave, which I did and love spending time in my space. We give each other room to do the hobbies we enjoy helping us relax and enjoy the day.

The only real issue I see with your display method is keeping the dust off. I keep my models in closed glass cabinets and still get some dust on them.

I can see a few problems if you don't might be picking them out.

1) you need more space.

2) as pointed out, you have no armour. Now that is a serious problem.

3) you don't have anything German. Major biggy in the problem stakes there.

4) did i mention you need more space.

I think that about it. Sholve those and life will be sweet. At least until you run out of space. Again

I know, its just shocking. Would give me nightmares.

If the wife passes away before I do, and it's just the dog and I, that's how I would want to decorate the house.

plasticjunkie, the dust doesn't get too bad on the ones hanging on the wall, I usually dust them every once in a while, and try not to break anything off them, lol.

Bish, More space would be great!  I'm really only into aircraft for some reason, maybe one of these days I'll pick up something different, who knows maybe I'll like it.  I only really know the U.S. Air force stuff, lol.  I've got plenty of modeling time ahead of me, so I'll have to branch out to other countries eventually, lol!

My wife hasn't "limited" me but she does give me that "look" when I say "i gotta have that". I have slowed down considerably however my stash grew out of porportion before I came to my senses. Nice builds and awesome displays, your husband is a great man.

I have a friend who's livingroom is decorated with 1/350 ships and most of the pictures on the wall are the box art of the kits LOL. Now that's an understanding spouse.

Be warned, if you make the trip to doing armour, there is no turning back from the Dark Side. I don't blame you for sticking to what you know and love. I spent to much time building kits i didn't really have an interest in rather than those i have a passion for.

Listen to what Bish is saying...it's true!  I traveled down the dark path and now I have over 7 built kits under my belt and over 30 sitting in the stash.  It's like a chip...you can't eat just one.  LOL!

I had a very understanding wife and she promoted my hobby.  Of course, because of that, I have a stash of over 435 kits!  So your limit might not be a bad thing!  LOL!  Enjoy the hobby and each other.  And we need to see some close ups of those builds.  Grerat work.

Well, you can display them any way you want, but the "problem" you're going to have (if you don't have it already) is dust. Dust will get in those models and ruin the finishes. They really should be covered on a shelf somewhere, in a case. Cobwebs gotta be a problem too, and every time you dust them, you run the risk of knocking parts off...no sirree, Bob; I wouldn't do it that way. :)

It would also be hard to admire the work you did on them that way; I mean, you can only see some of them from one angle, and only in good light conditions. Not a great way to show off your modeling.

You can do what you want, but I think a model room with proper display cases would be infinitely perferable.

I only see one problem......lack of space, but that will eventually solve itself when your daughter grows up and moves on, then you can take over her room. 

Since the better half passed away, I can decorate anywy I want to, and am working on revamping the house to display what I want now.  The only issue is the cats, who want to play with anything new.

Naw, no problem, you have plenty to wall space to add shelves.  When those get full, then you might have a problem.

I had that problem, then I got cat, which really didn't cause any issues, he was quite selective in choosing which model needed to go and was good at choosing my least favorite.

The dog on the otherhand, used the shotgun approach at thinning the herd by bringing a tennis ball into the house and chucking it.  He also had a tail that could address both problems of dusting and what to do with too many models on the shelf.  

Now all my models get stored/displayed in my basement workshop.  The dog won't go down there, he's afraid of spiders, which is another subject all on its own. How to evict a family of spiders that take up residence in your 1/48 scale B-25?
