I signed up for their 30 day free trial. So far I like it. There's a range of plans mostly based on data storage, plus their highest level can facilitate selling images from the site for you.

About the only good part of this PB snafu is that it got me to evaluate usage, understand what I really need and clear out aa lot of junk. So I mass downloaded my entire PB library onto my cloud server. It is 375 GB, about 2,300 items. Going through it on my own desktop is a whole lot easier that editing in PB. I've uploaded maybe 50 images on to Fotki so far, on a sort of as-needed basis for some current threads.

Right away, for whatever reasons, Fotki is a great deal, maybe 5 times, faster. I've been using drag and drop for multiple image uploads. It'll upload ten in maybe 15-30 seconds.

The second benefit is that because it's pay to play, there are no ads. No pop ups. I do not miss those! I won't market for them, but it's anywhere from $ 3 to about $ 15 a month, on account of data storage requirement and length of contract. There's a choice of anything basically from one month to five years.

I can get 100 GB on the site for a year for less than $ 5 a month, if I recall.

I've used Fotki for photo storage for a few years now and it's cheap and easy to post from. Let's hope the giant PB exodus doesn't overload their servers and cause them and other companies to follow suit. Sad

What are your thoughts about it? Was it an easy process?
