When I was in grad school one of the profs had a surplus T-28 (that was ages ago, over fifty years ago).  His was a Navy version, which he said had a more powerful engine than the AF version.  He loved to fly aerobatics, and would do so over a lake within easy earshot of the campus.  Boy, would that thing make a racket when he really wrung it out.

Talk about spares! At least 2 can probably be fully assembled and sold for lots of $$$

Interesting story below about Second Lt. William H. Harth Jr. The article sounds like Hell's Angels was shot down over Ploesti but in fact it was the first B17 to complete 25 missions, much earlier than The Memphis Belle. Hell's Angels made it back to the US in early 1944 and eventually scrapped. Apparently the young Second Lt. William H. Harth Jr. was shot down in another B-17F.

Don't think I'd buy them all, but the  restored static T28B monogram  reference airframe  would make a nice lawn jockey for monogram or FSM

Thanks,

John
