What are you listening to right now?
Posted by fotofrank on Thursday, August 23, 2018 3:23 PM

This is a thread from another forum I participate in. When I am building a model or editing photos I like to listen to inspirational music and YouTube is my go-to source for music. My favorite music is a genre called Epic. It's music you hear during movie trailers and in video games. This is what I'm listening to right now:

https://youtu.be/ranJwvW3b-Q

So, whatever you are listening to right now are were listening to, share it with us in this thread and let's see how long we can keep the thread alive.

Oh yeah, tell us who it is and maybe why you like the music. My favorite is Two Steps From Hell. The music inspires me.

OK. In the stash: Way too much to build in one lifetime...

Interesting! Another board I post on has that same type of thread in their GD. Been going on since 2009, and have grown to over 350 pages.

To to answer the question, I’ve been doing aloof 80s stuff the last few years. I’ve even incorporated a radio on the new workbench just for that reason.

Warmest regards,

Roger

I'm listening, and watching ...

Styx.

( It's a video of them playing "live", the album's Grand Illusion and Piece's of Eight , in their entirety. )

Watched "Super Duper Alice Cooper" yesterday.

Dont worry about the thumbprint, paint it Rust , and call it "Battle Damage"

Well I’m at work now, so I have on a local college public radio station that plays jazz music. No annoying commercials or yakking idiots. Just DJs who talk about the music occasionally.

At my workbench I’ll play my youtube music playlist or hook up my iPod to the stereo at my workbench.

Music calms the savage beast.

I can't get any classical stations on the radio where we live now without installing an FM antenna so I'm listening to CDs. Right now it's Amore, Pavarotti with the volume turned up.

At the moment it's led zeppelin, but most of the time while I'm building it's either 80's metal like Iron Maiden, or nu metal, death metal like slipknot, suicide silence, dimmu. Even some Viking metal like Amon Amath. Lol probably one of the only ones here who enjoys this type of music.

this is a great idea I love finding new music and listen to about everything from country, smooth jazz, classic rock and metal. NO rap tho. This won't be for everyone, and don't listen to Avenged sevenfold if you don't love this country, are troops and the sacrifice they give they are very anti communist.

Dimmu Borgir. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=kJ7lNunAPAM

Recently discovered Greta Van Fleet.

Great classic Led Zeppelin sound from a bunch of young guys!!!!

Before that, my most recent band I got turned on to was Billy Talent.

As you can probably tell, I like the harder stuff when it comes to rock n' roll.

I also like some classic country and be bop jazz.

Greta van fleet are amazing for being so young, the first time I heard them I swore it was some unreleased led zeppelin song. If you don't believe me listen to highway song.

I'm an 80's metal head, so I usually have one of my Iron Maiden albums playing("Somewhere In Time" is a favorite)...or have Pandora on my "80's Metal" station.

Like Eagle I'm an 80's metalhead. When I'm in my work van i listen to the local classic rock station. Nothing like a little classic Zeppelin to help get through the day.

No radio. I build in silence. I don’t like distractions while concentrating on my builds. The only thing I may have up and running is my iPad on mute.

Big thumbs up to all those, but my top three are (in no order), Black Sabbath, Old Aerosmith, and Led Zeppelin.

"It's a quarter after one, I'm a little drunk and I need you now" by Lady Antebellum.

Technically I'm not actually listening to it, but I heard it the other day, and have had it going through my mind over and over ever since.  Ahhhh Surprise

Right now I am listening to my local public radio station, with classical (piano piece) music.  The station does, however, play other stuff.

I will be looking shortly for a radio that provides a USB input so I can put my music on a thumb drive and plug it in.  I do that on my new car.  Nice.  I have about 15 albums on it.  I like folk, especially ethnic folk like Celtic, classical, Appalachian gospel, Broadway, movie and TV themes, some early rock, and dixieland.  No hard rock or cool jazz.

Hmmm;

I was on my way to PetSmart and my radio station " KPAC " was playing the piece that has the " Ride of the Valkyries "in it . I am right this minute into " Dark side of the Moon " by golly . This isn't even a sample of what drives me . Does anyone have the sound track from the movie  "1492 " ??

I have to do an update . Lately it's been Enigma and Celtic music . I would listen to Trans-Siberian , but it seems all they have done is Christmas Past ! Don't wanna leave out the Highwaymen and of course any Metal Head type stuff as well .

In the car it's Public radio and the Classics !

Hi,

I typically do that too.  Don't know why, but it seems on most radio stations the DJs seem to think that you want to hear them blather on an on about stuff, rather than listen to music, etc.  As such, I don't think that I've actually used my car radio for anything other much in the last 13yrs or so (ever since the old WHFS went off the air up here in the DC area, and even then it was only in the afternoons, because the morning guy talked too much) Stick out tongue

Yeah, if I ever turn on the car radio, I usually listen to NPR talkers or the college jazz station. Commercial radio for me doesn't exist anymore.

Listen to blues on my Sonos in the work room.

Listen to blues, rock, Texas stompin' music when I'm out in my Tony's.

Lot of good bar music here in rural CA.

Heard a good band last week out of San Antonio- "The Last Bandaleros".
