"www.postimages.org" is the current direct URL to the website, with unsecured access.  Once we log in and start drilling down to our account pages, the redirects use "postimg.cc".  That's left over from the expiration of their website registration earlier this year, and the subsequent ransoming of the previous address.

I'm still using my free Photobucket account,I think it works till december, then I will have to try something else.

You're a brave man for staying on with Photobucket. I'm surprised your images hasn't been locked by Photobucket. I wouldn't wait til December. I'd find something now. Who knows when Photobucket will pull another stunt like before.

I use postimage because it's 100% free and very easy to use.  Here's the link:

I can't even get in to see my own pics. But, since there only model pics and nothing else, they can stick them................................. sideways.

I pay $18 a year for Imageshack and its been a good, easy to use, no adds or BS service.   PB can just stay under their rock.

But still, they ruined a goodly percentage of very informative posts all over the internet. Jerks.

So, does this mean the old pics are gone yet again then?

I don't see any reason to go back to PB and pay when imgur has it all for free. If PB wants me back then

I'd still never go back, but it's interesting to see that someone there figured out that as a company, they made a very poor decision with that change in service.

They "admitted" they made a very poor decision yet now it's far too late for them for anyone to trust them anymore. No doubt Photobucket is sinking further to new lows faster than they can swim to stay afloat.

I could care less what Photobucket does to try to lure users back. They lost far too many users.

Why bother posting the latest terms from Photobucket when everybody has shunned them since their fiasco a long time ago. It has been voiced that no one will ever go back to them. I hope Photobucket goes down the tubes. They deserved to be tanked and become no more.

Why bother posting this?  Why bother posting anyting?  Because it's interesting, that's why.

You don't have to read or reply, if you don't find it interesting.

It's interesting that having been forced to investigate other hosting services, many of us have discovered faster and cleaner ways to post photos, either for free or by subscription. P'bucket now seems very clunky by comparison; the company will certainly need to do more than simply back off their ridiculous price gouge to attract customers. Like Black Sheep, I wouldn't use them again no matter what.

I get FAR better service from Imageshack for less. Photobucket is dead to me.

Even if they went back to the free accounts that i used to have i would not go back. I can't see this enticing many back, they were pretty poor even before the change in policy.

A post in another forum about photo-hosting prompted me to access Photobucket and see what they were up to.  I see now that PB has a new set of accounts, all of which appear to allow hosting.

Here is the link to the page showing the terms of their plans:

http://s267.photobucket.com/plans/

It looks like they've returned to a state more or less where they were, when they announced their disastrous policy of no hosting for anyone unless you paid $499 annually.  The storage space sizes are a little less and the prices are a little higher, though.  I had the basic account with 50 GB of storage, for $49 annually.  The comparable account now offers only 20 GB, for almost $72 annually.

I'd still never go back, but it's interesting to see that someone there figured out that as a company, they made a very poor decision with that change in service.
