Paul Allen crosses the bar
Posted by GMorrison on Monday, October 15, 2018 5:43 PM

Paul Allen passed away today from Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. He was 65.

He will always be thought of in many different contexts, and was a great friend of the preservation of World War 2 history.

I hope his various foundations continue to search for the historic treasures they've been finding.

Such a great man, he will be missed. Through his philantropic gifts his impact will be felt for generations to come.

I was able to build the Musashi wreck because of his Musashi expedition. I undersatnd he did many others.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

One of the Portland stations last night was saying that his expeditions "found the Yorktown in the Coral Sea".  Sent them corrections about Lex and York  this morning and adding that he found the Indy and the Japanese BB.  Also told them that Ballard found Yorktown.

I hope that the expeditions will continue, and it sounded hopeful that they will.  Waiting on the Hornet to be located.

He found the Indy! He was an amazing owner of my Trailblazers and a pretty awesome philanthopist. The man will be missed by many.

Posted before reading this. Yes he did all of that too. The man must have been a pretty serious history buff. Wish I knew more about it.
