Some of my best grilled meals have been prepared on smokers. i don't have one, so it's always been friends or family.
I suggest you try a turkey sometime. My Bro-in-Law did one long ago, and I still think about that Thanksgiving dinner.

Yes those are heavy. I took a part time job at wally world for a while some time ago and had to assemble those. Very well built and heavy duty.

I had to show you this one.A guy in my congregation had a pig roast on his property for everyone last year.I think his is bigger !!!
All three, with some alder and cherry tossed in. And don't forget the maple syrup basting. Wrap a couple of pieces in bacon to boot.
It should get nicely weathered fairly quickly. Enjoy !

LOL! Oh yeah... 95% of my stash and builds have been moved, but are still packed. My workbench is here, but most of my build supplies are still in CA... Tony, you are oh so right about no model builds in 36 hours...
Gary & Bish... it does need more rust (not too much though, I will be taking better care of this beast) and lots of smoke soot... one of these days soon....
Now should it be mesquite, hickory, or applewood...

I built this baby yesterday. A 1/1 scale Oklahoma Joe side smoker. It may not be a model, but it sure needed assembly. Heavy too! Had to have my other half help with quite a few of the steps. Sucker weighs almost 200 lbs.... Now to try it out...
