Bish

...Not sure that you can quote several unreleated posts at once.

Yes-see my post above.  You can do it, but not directly through the forum software.  That's what I meant about some other forums-they have the feature to select multiple posts, and pull them into a single response.

Here, if you want to do it, you have to choose to Reply, Quote, then copy the quoted text into Notepad, Word, etc, for each post you want to include.  Then paste all of that into your reply, and add your comment.

I guess you could also separate the nested quotes, too, and put the start and end tags around the relevant comments.

Either way is cumbersome, but Kalmbach is what Kalmbach is.

Are you by any chance wanting to reply to one specific person, meaning that person only and you don't want anyone else to see your reply to that person?

That's how I read your question, anyhow. If that's the case, don't use the reply button at all. Right click on the Avatar of the person you want to 'reply' to, and send them a 'PM'. (private message). How to do that will become apparant after you do the right click.

Edit: In hindsight, I don't think this was what you were asking afterall. Sorry. The folks above gave you all the right advice.

True, quoting a quoted post preserves the sequence of replies as an expanded tree.  I should clarify, I was talking about replying to more than one individual post in one pass.  Some forums have a feature that lets you mark two or more replies, and then click to reply, and it drops the replies as individual quotes.

It's funny-I was the first to start a reply, but I stopped to click and make sure of things like the path to the profile page, etc, so it took me longer to finish Wink

Well, here is the thing. I want to know how to reply to a specific comment. When I click the "reply" button, it makes me want to reply to everyone. How do I make it so that I am replying to a specific person?

Also, how do I have a motto in the bottom of my text?

Not sure if this answers your question about replying to a specific comment, but when you click the Reply button and the website presents you with the reply form, there's a button, "Add Quote to your Post".  If you click that, then the form loads the quoted post into your reply.  I've used it in this reply to you, for example.

When I use the Quote feature, I also do a little editing to remove the additional white space.  Not necessary, just a personal preference.

The page does not have functionality to to a multiple quote, as far as I know.  But when I want to quote multiple posts, I open up an editing app, like Notepad, and copy and paste the individual quoted posts into a single doc, edit them and add my text, and then paste the whole thing back into my reply.

As far as adding a signature and any text is concerned, click on Manage Profile in the upper right corner of the page. That will take you to your profile.  You'll see a row of tabs below the header on your profile page; the second tab is Signature.  Click that, and you can enter text to create your signature.  You can add an image, too, as you have probably seen in many peoples' signatures, though it's a linked image, just as when we add images to our posts.

Hope that helps!

To reply to someone specific you have to use the Reply button, not the Quick Reply, and then you have to hit the Add Quote to Your Post button. That would add the other person's comments to your post.If you want the whole quote, thats fine, but you can also erase it and just leave the part your answering.

Also you definitly want to eliminate the original posters pictures if any so as not to fill the thread up with duplicate pictures

As far as your signature,go to the bottom of the forum, you should see your profile.Open up the settings and you will see where it says Edit Signature

The post you are replying to should then come out like this.

You will see there is a reply button under each post. Use the one on the post you want to reply to and when it opens you will see the post and an add Quote to Post button. Use that. Be sure to use Reply and not Quick Reply.

For your Signature, use the setting link on the right, you can add a sig and also an image if you wish.
