My "second" COVID shot

Got ours thursday, feel a little beat up, and cold.Not terrible,but a good day to just rest.It was Moderna

So when's the booster coming

I got my second Pfizer last Monday. I had a very small amount of tenderness at the injection site. My wife got hers the next day and had discomfort, chills and soreness on Wednesday. On Thursday, she was fine. 

We had our Pfizer #2 twelve days ago.

I had no reaction at all, my wife had a slightly sore arm for about 36 hrs.

She told me it "....hurts when I do 'this' " (raising her arm over her head). I suggested she stop doing that.

Lucky for me, she is a really good sport, Greg.

I'm moving too slowly these days to dodge most projectiles.

Like many folks, I found the second shot reaction worse than the first.  However, as an octogeneration, it still was a lot easier than a bad case of the virus.

I got a notice I can go get the JJ shot. Along with the disclaimer in the very same message, the authorities have a stop on the JJ shot. And the final reminder to remember they have my best interest in mind. Now , oh never mind I'm sure you get the irony in all that..

I had my second Pfizer shot over a month ago.  No effects from either one, although I did pull the third eye reaction joke on them hospital and had several people get tagged by it.  Fun time had by all.

I got my second Pfizer a little over 2 weeks ago, same as my wife. I had no reaction at all to either but my wife's arm was sore for a couple of days after both.

The only shot I took was last week......

                        .............hitting an angled 6" steel plate at 75 yards.

Same here, only pain was where I got the shot the next morning, but I slept on that shoulder that night. The pain was gone later that day.

Many ladies at work were feeling ill after the shots, but the guys didn't feel much of anything. It also might be a race thing, but it seemed like whites and Asians at work were taking advantage of the on site vaccinations, but very few African America coworkers.

They actually gave us time off of the assembly line to go and get the shots, even shutting down sections of the line to allow folks to go.

  sounds good disastermaster. Dont want to start an argument but id rather the flu then a vaccine thats not even properly tested yet.

       I got my first with no reaction Except maybe a little what I call a Whiskey High( Moderna)-Then just last week, Before the Train Show I got my second on th 22nd. Well let me tell you, That one knocked me on my can!( Moderna Too)

 I guess it's an age thing . Besides On the Eleventh of next month, Supposedly I will be wiser.Why? Well I will be older than I am now! ( God Willin, and the Creek Don't rise)

I think I'm singing the same song as everyone else. I've already had both shots with the first one being just fine but the second had my joints aching and I was very tired. My wife also had both of hers and she had no issue with either shot (both Beckys and mine were Pfizer). My 22 year old special needs son Jarrod has had both of his too. The first was just fine, but the second had him fighting a 102 degree temp, chills, and body aches. We were worried that it might trigger his seizures but luckly for everyone it did not (Jarrods shots were Moderna). On the other hand, my 91 year old mother had both her shots (Moderna) and had zero problems with either shot. 

I recently read a study published jointly by Princton and either Oxford or Cambridge. The short story is that they have found what appears to be evidence that ties our reactions to the second shot with the possibility that those who experience the reactions have in a vast majority of the time had some level of the Covid infection prior to the imunizations. There was also a seprate study that found similar evidence with the swelling of the lymph nodes after the shots for previously infected people. 

I'm just happy to hear all of your stories as that means you're still here.... and so am I.

I had my second 9Moderna) this morning. Currently installing our new dishwasher and feel ok.

At least if I crash and burn I won't have to do the dishes.

Scheduled to get shot number 2 of Modena this week.  So to those of you who have received both: Do you get to pick which superpower you get, or is it luck-of-the-draw?

Funny story on my first shot: the lady in front of me was throwing a hissy fit yelling at the poor nurse that she already had her J&J shot and now she wants the Moderna.  I thought of my Doc who has a plaque in his office that reads: "Don't confuse your Google search with my medical degree"

I had mine about a month ago, my wife her second one few days ago.  I had zero reaction. She had little sore arm , they said it was "covid arm". That was at a Davta dialysis clinic.  We trust the science.  Science has always worked for our family.

Google searches aren't always a bad thing if you do them the right way and don't stop with just a few hits that affirm one opinion or another.  It was a Google search that kept telling me my first doctor was wrong, and a Google search that helped me find a new doctor...who literally saved my life.  They aren't infallible. 

I had my second Pfizer shot a week ago on Friday. I found myself to feel just a little "off" on Saturday, and Sunday I had some body ache and very tired. Slept a good part of the day and by Monday I was normal or let's just say, what passes for normal for me.

As far as Google searches and information gleened from youtube..... be sure you do your research from multiple sources.

I was scheduled through one of the local fire dept. in cooperation with my city and county. I was told to expect to get an email approx. 3-5 days before the second was due. The email came as promised and only gave me a choice of what time I wanted to be there but not the day.

Not sure how it works now as some of it is now walk in?

I limit my google searches for anything meds wise to UCSF, Stanford Med or Mount Sinai.

I'll tread lightly here, but in the interest of public health...I listened to an interesting segment on NPR.

An investigative report was done about vaccine in communities that identify as very evangelical, that being Bible literal study, total acceptance of the Gospels as the word of God, devotion to serving Christ as the central moral in life, and evangelical outreach; bringing others to all of those values. Their definition, just to qualify the group in the study.

Of the Pastors, well over 90% believe in the vaccine and preach the same to their congregations. Yet less than 50% of those same congregations follow the guidance.

They are very frustrated that their flocks seem to choose other guidance.

Saturday morning 5/1/21 there was a long line at CVS.

The tech asked me why I thought there were so many people. I told him it was because those of us under 65 got cleared for vacinne on 4/1/21 and we all scheduled the second one at that time.

They moved my 2nd from the 6th to the 10th to put me in the "window", instead of just two weeks between.  We'll see how it goes.

My wife had her second round of Pfizer two weeks ago. She had the seemingly common low grade fever, headache and low energy for about 24 hours and was just fine after that. I am due for my second shot (Moderna) on the 10th and the first only resulted in a mildly sore arm. My 94 year old inlaws both had the Moderna and basically had zero side effects with either dose.

I would like to give a shout out to the National Guard and County workers in our area for the smooth process we have had. It has been very well run when we showed up for our shots.

I would also like to give a huge shout out to the healthcare workers who have been impacted by this. We have a friend that is a respiratory therapy ICU nurse in a large hospital and it has been brutal on them. When all of this first started she stated that the hospital set a new record for the amount of respiratory ICU patients in the "first wave". The "second wave" more than doubled that record number and the hospital had to bring in 93 contract visiting nurses to help stem the exhaustion. She said the hardest part of the second wave was losing a lot of young, strong, otherwise healthy patients that they just shouldn't be losing and having to explain that loss to the families. I have no desire to argue the differing viewpoints regarding this virus one way or the other. However I do feel I need to remind myself that this has been a uniquely brutal and exhausting experience for many of those on the front lines. I am deeply grateful for all of those medical professionals that hung in there and continue to fight the fight.

We got ours in MS. drove over from LA in the end of Jan then 2nd one in end of Feb. Moderna. 1st one no reaction for either of us. The 2nd, I was a little tired and the wife felt like a bad hangover and slight headache for 24 hours. Both our arms were pretty sore. Got a doctor friend who swears that if you feel like poop and achy and fever your better off than if you have no reaction. For whatever that's worth. Guess I'm in trouble. Haha.
