Price increase for FSM?
Posted by Justinryan215 on Sunday, November 28, 2021 8:09 AM

So, we are all aware of the change to bi-monthly for our favorite mag...

I just saw a post in a Facebook modeling group that the original poster received a renewal notice that showed a price increase to $53 and change.  Has anyone else seen this?

is this just someone misreading and jumping to conclusions?

"...failure to do anything because someone else can do better makes us rather dull and lazy..."

Mortal as I am,I know that I am born for a day.  But when I follow at my pleasure the serried multitude of the stars in their circular course, my feet no longer touch the Earth...

I just looked. It's $46 for the print AND digital and then it's $43 for just the digital version which seems to be the new thing. I'm old school and enjoy the printed version myself but.......times are a changin....Confused

I subscribe to six magazines and two newspapers.  Every one has had a price increase in the last year or two.  Some increases have been substantial.  And most of the mags have gone to less than 12 issues a year.  I suppose printed literature is a dying thing, but I am willing to put it on life support.

I hear ya Don. That's just the way things are and I'm right there with you on the whole life support thing.

On a different note I've seen your new title but didn't associate it with you. What happened to your old "Don Stauffer" account?

With all the problems they have with this site, it would be a hard, if not impossible sell for me.

I guess several people have had the same problem.  One day I found I could not log in.  The only solution seemed to be to create a new account.  When I did I found I could use the same icon, but not the same username, because it was already in use!  And I found no way to delete the old account.  So, needed new username!

I renewed at the new, higher price, but ONLY for one year. Kalmbach's past shenanigans have made me leery of any kind of subscription or promise for more than I care to lose.

That said, at a cost of about $6.87 per PRINTED magazine, it's still worth it to me. The on-line stuff I can take or leave, usually the latter. I splurged on one of the FSM digital compendiums on CDs, and lived to regret it (it's basically unuseable unless you have a 24-36-inch monitor).

Fortunately, I had opted for a 3 year subscription before the price change.  With so many publications forced to raise prices I am doing that with most of my subscriptions now.  Sure, the publication may fold during that time but I think it is worth the chance.
