I used to get in trouble with my cello instructor when I would come in for a lesson with band aids on my hands and it would affect my playing. We agreed that I would not do anything requiring a knife for a month before a concert.

Years ago, when I was lucky enough to work on a regular basis on radial engines, the amount of blood you had on your lower arms and hands was considered an indiction of how much work you gotten done at the end of the day.

Of course, in those days, we firmly believed that we could make any thing fly as long as we had duct tape, safety wire, silicon seal, a pair of channel locks and a 24 oz ball peen hammer. lol

You drew blood for the FIRST time?
I guarantee it won't be the last.
Wish I had a buck for every time I've drawn blood with my number 11 X-Acto blade.........
I'd be living in a lovely villa on the French Riviera.

Sliced the top off my index finger many years ago.

The bit left over looked like half a baked bean!

It bled for two days, and my finger is still not the right shape.

But it was a scar gained in a noble pursuit!

I've cut myself with a hobby knife, but never with the sharp end... I was pushing too hard on the blunt(er) side of the blade and found that I had sliced into my index finger!

I've done this too, now I have knives that don't roll! It's amazing how easily one with a new blade cam go through jeans and into your leg.

Like I tell my kids, if something makes you bleed, it's yours forever. That's why my duaghter is waiting to inherit my Commando Knife given to me when I retired from the Air Force while working with the 16th Special Operations Wing, and my youngest son is waiting to inherit the screen door to the front of the house.Big Smile [:D]

As you build more kits, you just get it over with, right in the beginning!
Step 1, in all instructions, should be: Cut finger with razor knife.

Oddly enough super-glue was originally developed as a surgeon's aid to replace stiches in many applications and we as modelers keep that application current. Let me know when the knife rolls off the desk and spears your foot or even worse, something higher up on the anatomy. Isn't it funny how even knowing just how sharp a razor knife is we will always try to catch it when it falls?

Well slicing your finger open is never fun. I just seem to have the bad luck of the blade slipping under my nail, and that hurts.

I haven't done it yet. I've been careful with my knives since I cut my thumb last spring with my pocketknife, that was pretty deep.

'Tis a perilous business we're in! I have a small scar on my right thumb from an errant drop of burning sprue and a scar on my left index finger from a polishing wheel slip.
