Grinding Rommel's Rims
Posted by Sprue-ce Goose on Monday, April 19, 2010 1:46 PM

I have been separating, trimming and grinding off the surplus plastic from the Rommel's Rod roadwheels using my ever handy and oh so vintage Mattel Power Shop.

I intend to chuck the wheels in a Dremel for trueing.

New rear wheels will now be needed behind the kit parts and I intend to cut plastic discs.

I was considering using a brass tube to spin/cut the circles but don't have a large enough tube.

Are my only other methods for cutting discs by:

  1. scribing a circle on styrene using the original kit roadwheels and snapping the discs from styrene ( which leaves ragged edges ) ...

or

  1. hand cutting circles from plastic squares?

Any other options?
