What subject do you have the most of ?

For me its SdKfz 251's. I have 23 in the stash and one built, all 1/35 scale.  After that its 10 Panther kits, one built and 9 in the stash and 9 Tigers, with 2 built and 8 in stash.

As for aircraft, i got 11 ju-87s in 1/72nd and one in 1/32nd followed by 6 1/72nd Fw-190's and two 1/32nd scale ones.

Star Trek for me.  Yeah, I'm that kind of dork!   Next would be armor, I love tanks, armored personel carriers, and self propelled guns.  A few helicopters, misc WWII aircraft, and even a ship or two are in my stash as well.

I will build pretty much anything that catches my eye or peaks my curiosity.

We ALL need to do that!  If I did nothing but model until I couldn't see or hold the tools anymore, I would probably not be able to build my whole stash, and I'm just turning 40!

I am probably not that bad yet. If i didn't buy anymore kits and just built what i have, i recon i could be done by the time i am 60, and i am coming upto 41. But i read an article by the FSM editor a few months back justyfing this, this gave me alot of comfort that i can carry on buying.

My main problem is being away from home so much, while away i don't builr but still buy kits. I think i have 4 kits waiting for me back in camp afetr 3 months away.

O well, i can't take it with me, might as well get pleasure out of it.

I've built 3 King Tigers and have one in the stash. Personally, with so many subjects out there, I'm deliberately trying not to dupe any one subject. I like variety and don't want to bog down on the same topic. I've even gone so far as trying to eliminate getting the same variants such as a Pz IV and a Flakpanzer, because they have those 32 sets of frickin wheels that I hate so much.

I Have 5 Monogram OS2U-3 Kingfishers in my possession and I thought I was becoming obsessive.

P-40s, 6 in total.  5 are 48 scale (Monogram, Eduard, Hasegawa, Trumpeter, and Academy) and the sixth is the old Revell kit in 32 scale.  I've built the first 5.

5 Spitfires - new 32 scale Tamiya + old Revell 32 scale, 48 scale Monogram, 2 Tamiya.

After that I noticed I have 4 F4F Wildcats (Revell 32 scale, Tamiya, HobbyBoss and Monogram 48 scale), 4 F4U Corsairs (all 48 scale, 2 Tamiya, 2 Monogram), 4 F6F Hellcats (HobbyBoss, Eduard, Monogram, Hasegawa), 4 B-17s (48 scale, Monogram and Revell including Visible edition), 3 C-47 Dakotas (2 Monogram + Trumpeter release, 48 scale), 4 B-29s (2 Academy, 72 scale + 2 48 scale Monogram), and 3 B-24 Liberators (1 Pro-Modeler + 2 of the latest rerelease Monogram).

I would have to say I have more armor builds than anything else,followed by aircraft,same goes for the stash.

I  have a number of long term projects some of which require the same type of vehicle/aircraft. The biggest one is to build every variant in every model of the 251, all in 1/35th. I work it out to be over 60 vehicles, so i aint even half way.  have a few other types more than once, such as 5 B-24's, 5 Me-262's and a few others, but i am trying to get a bit more variety in my kits, especially German aircraft, and the main project i am working on which is to build an aircrfat from every military airfield in Norfolk.

I have a goal of building each of the aircraft (in 1/48) that the US used in WWII and each of the armor/vehicles (in 1/35) as well. Not every variety, just a representative of each type.

I know everyone has a different "goal" and have always thought that the idea of building every possible variant of one type would be a cool idea. Good luck with your 251 quest.

Thanks, i will need it. But even if i don't complete it, it will be fun. I only have a few kits left to get all the versions you can buy off the shelf, then its conversion time. But the project i am mainly working on is the Norfolk. Out of 37 i have 16 with a few in the pipeline. But its going to mean alot of B-24's.

Right now most subjects are Motorbike kits.

Said that I tend to swing a bit and get hooked on different subjects. So "Motorbike" is current(Again).

Unfinished shelf queens

I would guess my most numerous kit subjects are the ones that have multiple sub variants- aircraft like Bf-109 (E-3, E-4, F-2, F-4, F-4 trop, etc.), FW-190, and P-51 being the most numerous, and tanks like the M4, Panzer III and Panzer IV series. As long as I can make it physically different aside from markings.

Sabres!

I have two 1/32 Swords completed; a Hasegawa done up as an RCAF Golden Hawk and a Kinetic done up as a Sabre 2 of 421 Sqn, Grostenquin, France, 1953.  I also have completed four Hasegawa 1/48 scale and one RoG 1/48 scale.  The Hasegawas were built to represent 439, 421 and 413 Sqns, RCAF and the RoG was marked to represent 444 Sqn RCAF.  I gave the two 421 Sqn Sabres I completed away.  One to a former 421 Sqn pilot and one to my cousin David, whose father was a 421 Sqn pilot killed at Grostenquin in 1953.

Helicopters, of all types make up the biggest part of my stash, cars / trucks are #2 and there is a good mix of other subjects. 

Seakings of various types are at the top with 18 kits (13 Sikorsky / Westland Seakings, 2 HH-3Es and 3 HH/MH-53), Hueys are in second place with 15 (all types), the H-34 / Wessex comes in third with 12 (7/5), and the H-19 comes in forth with 7. After that most are singles or doubles of a kit. 

The H-19s are in the lead for built models since I've finished 4, the H-34 is in second place with 3 completed. 

Do you include kits that have been cut-up and parted out for other builds? (I got about 13-14 of those)

Then after that, NASCAR, mainly (acually, all) Dale Earnhardt #3 cars.

Then, free paper models (acually, these should be first, since I could print out virtually endless copies of the same kit, and build them all)

Also, do you include sheet styrene and other raw materials that could be used to build from the ground up as kits? If so, then 1/87-1/160 scale locomotives and railcars would bump up to the top of the list, to be followed by 1/72 scale armor.

Anything Military, Big & preferably Fast, with wings of course.

Stuff like;

Had 4 kits of the Tiger tank, traded 2 in for store credit that were still in the plastic. Now I have a liking for the Sherman Firefly, one is 1/72 scale and the other 1/35.

Two nice birds you have a fetish for there!

Considering I just started I guess that would be 1/48 WW2 aircraft, I have three of them, a Spitfire, ME-109, and a P-38. Also have an F-15C and an Apache. So a grand total of 5. I've been pretty prolific though since I'm so hooked, been at it 5 weeks or so.

Okay, this took a bit of doing, but the winner Is the Sherman,  It's the leader with 29 completed models, (gun tank only, not counting TDs of SPA versions.  Same criterea for unbuilt, just M4 gun tanks, with 57 kits to be built.  Close, sortof 2nd place is T-34 gun tanks with 16 built and 39 to be built.  Again doesn't count variations on the T-34 hull.  If I had to count chassis types, I'm sure the winner would be the PzkfwIV.  So far only 1 chick figure, camp follower, British Lancers, 1814.

I have built 1 helicoptor (Huey Hog), 5 figures, 3 tanks (two shermans and one StuG), 1 F-18, 1 F-15, 1 F-14, 1 Spitfire and a 1970 Dodge charger.

Grand total of 14 models.

Figures in first.

Cars, props, and helo's in third.

Armor and lots of it ranging from WWII to the modern era, but truth be told a majority of it is Russian armor. Also have some fig' sets strewn about and even a Mig.....despite the fact I don't really build aircraft.

Figure sets... I don't count them in my stash of kits because they're all just parts... Seldom do I use a figure that's S.O.B., except for drivers and pilots and such, even then I gotta change arms & turn heads...

Got around 300 sets now, since I buy some about every time I go in for paint or such.. Doesn't matter what they are...
