Seriously though, thank you, Manny and Hercmech, and EVERYONE for the kudo's. I just now saw this thread.

In case you all don't know, I've been one heck of a busy doog lately, getting packed up and trying to get organized for my "big move" to Chapel Hill, North Carolina, to live with my fiancee, Jenn. I've been on the forums mostly in a "lurker" mode lately as I just haven't had time to model--I probably won't have time til July or so.

Anyway, you who know me know that I always enjoy hearing that my articles help and inspire. Makes me feel a bit like I imagine ol' Shep Paine felt in his day.........

This is weird.  I finally got my copy yesterday.   Indiana is not too far from Wisconsin where FSM office is located but I didn't get my copy til yesterday while others in Canada or states much farther got theirs already.  I always wanted to understand how magainzes are distributed...

Wait a minute, it could be that my mailman enjoys it too.

Bulk mailings, such as FSM, are shipped / bundled in banded, plastic wrapped, "cubes" that probably weigh roughly 50 pounds each and sit on either pallets or the concrete floor until distributed..

Or at least that's how they look in my post office.

The post office opens the pack of magazines and distributes to each customer "slot" till the mailman picks up his area's mail each morning.

I'd have to go looking, but I wouldn't be surprised if the FSM that I see locally is actually printed on this side of the border, saves them cross-border shipping etc. So me being on a slightly different schedule isn't a surprise.

No worries....best that FSM knows.

However, I suspect the postal authorities are at fault.

...presuming the bundled , bulk FSM copies leave the printer at roughly the same time!

I picked up my copy last weekend, with the RCAF Vampire on the cover! Great work Doog, anybody that even attempts to model a destroyed/derelict subject gets  a from me!

Got my FSM in yesterday's mail.  The step-by-step by Doog could easily be applied to other types of models.

Got my latest issue of FSM yesterday and all I can say is it is one of the better issues of late...part of what made it a such a welcomed edition was a very cool toot and WIP from our own Karl "doog" Logan...

...very cool dio of a rusted out Impala at a derelict racetrack...and it was based on a real pic, which always gets high marks from me when doing a dio...nice job, doog!!!

That issue was in Venture Hobby , Wheeling Il last Sunday.

Are subscribers mailed their issues same time as retailers?
