Multiple Pics in post

At the max, I do  a top, a bottom, then shoot from 12, 2, 5,7,and 10 O'clock, with a couple close-ups in the next post (if I haven't already done that during construction)...  Dunno why, but a lot of pictures in one post slows my rig down substatially, while the same number of shots, spread out over several posts, don't... Plus, I DO keep in mind that not everyone has wireless or cable, and that there're still a lot of dial-up/DSL users out there...

Another thing I do is only posting jpegs, since bitmaps are much larger and take way more "oomph"  to load...

 I forego the bottom more often than not, since I don't do a lot of work there... They're going on a diorama and won't be coming off, so I don't see much point in shooting undersides...

Obvious exceptions would be if the aircraft was going into a shadow-box and is depicted in a manuever that shows the underside or, in the case of armor, have turned turtle for whatever reason the story provides....

BTW, anyone know if it's that IMG-code thing the reason I see all the extraneous characters at the top and bottom of some pictures?

I just open another browser window, go to one to my PB accounts,  open the photo, then right-click on the photo in PhotoBucket et al, then click, "properties"...

Then copy the URL address of the picture.. Now go to your broswer window, the one in FSM,  paste it in the "image" window (open it by clicking on the little film-strip icon) after you've open up a "reply" window....

Then click "insert" and it's done. You can do it as many times as you need in a thread, but be kind and don't post more than four or five per post...  Takes forever to load more than that sometimes..

 

I wish some people would get the message too that you don't need to post 27 images of the same model from 6 or more redundant angles, whilst turning the model maybe less than 3 degrees, or moving the camera 5 mm or so back or closer!

Ten shots of any given finished model is MORE than enough to see what's been accomplished.

When you are in your photobucket album page, put the cursor on the pic you want to post, the pic will have all it's options come up, (HTML code, HTML thumb, IMG code, IMG thumb). Click on the IMG code and the little box for that will say "copied". Now click over to the forum, right click in the text field, click on "paste". Done.

If you want to add more pics, hit enter, go back to photobucket and repeat the process above.

Close, but that cartoon of Mauldin's is actually captioned thusly..

               "This is th' town my pappy told me about..."

One gotcha is placing the cursor after the first picture. If you "select" the picture a carriage return deletes it.

To ease things, if I remember, I put in several blank lines before I start the link to the first picture.  I then move the cursor up one line and insert the link for the first pic.  That way, there is a blank line below the picture that you can easily move the cursor to.  I then put in a couple more line feeds and repeat the process.

If you don't want to do the above monkey business it is possible to place the cursor near the bottom right edge of the picture, but difficult to get it in exactly the right spot.

Only thing I can add is line the hot linkies up then populate them in order.

Copy the Photobucket IMG code into a word document. Repeat as needed. Copy the text of the word document where you want to post it. You can include your own captions and descriptions as well. The only caveat might be to insert a bunch of return codes (the Enter key on your keyboard) and paste each IMG code without hitting the Enter key afterwards. This can cause some programming glitches when you post.

Using photobucket,it's the same process as posting one pic.Just add another line after the first pic and post the next link,and so on.
