Guys- THANKS! No way I can bring home something without your help here at FSM!  I am not kidding...

It is ALWAYS great seeing FSM friends at the show.  It has become a tradition at Roscoe Turner because we had FUN and hope we will see more faces next year. 

Rick- Thank you for the thread!   Here's the 1/35 Huey I built for my friend's 50th birthday.  His wife paid for everything.   He flew Huey UH-1H for 14 years when he was in the Army. 

Below is better picture because the lighting was not great at the school gym where the show was.

I was happy to bring home something for my Panzer IV Ausf H. Not the Bison Rick has stated earlier.  Can't blame Rick because all armors are just targets to him because he is into wingy things.

It was one of oldest Tamiya kits from the 70's if you remember with Zimm putty and a lot of improvements.

Of course the best part of the show was the vendors in other gym despite being smaller than last year.

Look what John (ogrejohn) made me buy... a CyberHobby Tiger kit for only $45.  Do we smell Big Cats GB coming up?

We met another guy Steve who frequents at other forum but I am working to get him come to FSM and join my Panzer III & Its Variants GB...

I have to say something about Fermis and John.... their builds were AWESOME!  John's T-34 with winter camo using hairspray technique was one of my favorites.  Fermis built 39 planes last year but they were just GREAT.  Hope he had enough room in his truck for the awards for his trip back home.  When I saw his Chinook helicopter sitting next to my Huey I knew right away no way I can bring home something better.  Outstanding work Fermis!

Wow...I like your Bison, Deafpanzer, but that Mk IV is outstanding!  Looks like a very nice set up for vendors...sweet time all-around, I'm sure...

It was really great meeting up with Rick, Andy and Fermis. Me, I struck out but there is always next year. I thought Andy's armor should have gotten more awards. His Pz IV H is truly nice work and the pictures don't do it justice. It should have scored higher. Fermis's Barracuda is really something to see up close, amazing! 

The vendor area seemed to be a little off compared to past years. As I recall about the Alfred Kurzmaul Tiger we got Andy was the one doing the arm twisting. 45 bucks is hard to pass up though.

Thanks guys, and it was a great pleasure to meet you all. I was a bit "out of sorts"....having a couple few cocktails and only three hours sleep! After leaving, I realized that I never really LOOKED at anything, just passing glances......did PLENTY of laps around the vendor room though!!!

John- I have to disagree... your T-34 should have brought home an award EASILY!  I still don't understand how judging works.  Fortunately somebody took a good picture and posted it on Cybermodeler site Stik listed recently.  I really hope my whitewash attempt comes as good as yours!

I'll pass on that one too.. I don't travel outta state anymore for contests, gas is just too ridiculous... Haven't been farther away from home than 50 miles in three or so years (not counting trips to the Doc in Iowa City.. HAD to make those trips to be able to walk again, or I wouldn't have gone there, either..)...  If I had to go out there, or farther, I wouldn't have any cash for the vendor tables, lol..

But if they do one in Des Moines...

I was there and it was a remarkable show. I regret missing out on you guys but maybe we'll get together next year. I may have been standing next to any one of you at any time and never knew it.
All the work was remarkable! A/c being my primary area of interest that's where I spent most of my time and ofcourse I took a bunch of pics. Fermis' work is remarkable and it was a pleasure to finally see some of it with my own eyes.

Hkshooter- Sorry we couldn't meet at the show.  We were wondering if you were there too.  Next year we will make sure that we ALL can get together as long as you do your best not to let Fermis win all of the awards or his car will not make it back home with all of the weight from the awards. 

Need to wear FSM T-shirts with your screen-name on it at shows..
