A smoking deal!

I was tipped off by Philo in the Auto Forum about Michael's having Badger 200 AB's on clearance. I went to the first, only to not find any, but picked up the Badger AB holder marked down from $29.99 to $9.99. I got up to the register and it rang up as 1 cent. The girl told the manager and he said he they had to charge that price. Whoop!. So I got home and called another Michael's and sure enough, they had one Badger 200 left marked down from $99.99 to $19.99. Score. This is wonderful, I already have a Badger 200 and love, love, love it, so now I have a spare.

It might not be too late to still pick one up at your local Michael's. Coupons are not valid on it.

LMAO, no Hans, just got lucky. I guarantee the AB stand is definitely not worth $30. It's pretty much cheap plastic, which is a pity since I think Badger makes great AB's. It looked like it was returned and when I opened the package I broke a prong. Cheap plastic. But then again, it was free.

The AB I got lucky too. It's a NH which stands for heavy-tip. My other happens to be a fine-tip or NF. So now i have a better brush for basecoats and the other can be used for the camouflage.

Thanks for the tip!  I swung by my Michael's on the way home from work and found a Badger-200 and Badger-155 (Down from $149.99 to $29.99) in the clearance aisle.  Snagged them both and used some tactical flirting on the manager at the register to get the -155 marked down to $19.99.  So 2 new Badger airbrushes for $40.  That's just too unbelievable to pass up!

I'm in Denver and unfortunately no, I snagged the last 200 and the last 155.  According to the manager they had 5 of the 200s and 3 of the 155s at the start of the day.  Apparently word got out pretty quick.

From what the employees told me, is that they might have been on clearance for over a month.

Thanks again to Philo, for I would have missed the boat.

Man you were right about that one. I have a Badger Renegade Velocity and a Badger 350. I  really didn't need another airbrush but hey, why not have another spare. I picked up the 200 for $19.99 today.  I found the rack where the 200 was supposed to be displayed and there were none there (it was priced at $129.00) so I grabbed the store manager and asked, " Aren't these supposed to be on clearance for $20.00?". She looked at me like I was crazy and replied, "I don't think so!". She then told me that she would go check it out to be sure.  She returned a few minutes later from the office with a look of shock on her face and told me I was right and asked how in the hek I knew about it. It seems that Micheals is switching airbrush brands and is just getting rid of the whole Badger lineup in their inventory.

Anyway, way to go and thanks a million! What a steal.

Michaels in my area have been selling the Badger 150-5 kits for $49.99 as well as the 200 for $19.99.

The Patriot ? version was being sold at the normal Michaels price last time I visited.

What are they replacing the Badgers with?

You know the lady didn't know that the Badgers were on clearance. She didn't know what brand it was being replaced with either. What a laugh.

Good grief I hope not! I miss the days when I could just drive down to the local hobby shop and either just look around or get a new accessory or tool I needed and we didn't have "cookie cutter" hobby places with the only kits or tools (and definitely the total lack of after market accessories for kits!) that were on their dedicated vendor list to order from. I mean have you gone to the hobby lobby website and looked at the available aircraft kits they have? I guess the online market just starved the mom and pop stores out.

I'll give you a quick instance you may be familiar with. I remember in Dallas about 13 years ago there was a place in Farmers Branch called Phil's Hobbies. I went there all the time on my lunch hour and lots of times just looked around. This place was like the friggin Alamo! They had it ALL. Kits, accessories, paints and supplies of every kind, RC stuff, trains, books, whatever. It was paradise. Well.....they had to close shop. One of the guys who worked there opened Bobe's Hobby House over in Pensacola, FL. I think the main reason he is making it is because he does have online services. It was a real shame to hear that place closed down. It happened here too in Corpus. There was this placed called Leisure Time Hobbies. It wasn't as big as Phils but hey, Corpus had a hobby store that catered to the modeler and that place closed down. It was here for decades. It's just something that I miss from time to time thats all.

Tigerman

Thanks for the heads up on the Michaels AB deals.Yes  I called three Michaels in my area. The first one had no idea what I was talking about. The second one said they ran that sale about a month ago. The last one I called had only one Badger 155 marked down from $149.99 to $29.99. My old badger is a good 35 years old but works like new, really didn't need another one but could not pass it up for that price.Wink

Right on!

I suppose I should have been more persistent about other AB's that they might have been hiding. They used to sell Cresendos awhile back. I wouldn't mind a real double-action.

Hey tigerman,

I checked in today to pick up yet another spare (that I could use between cleanings!) and asked the store manager what they were switching to. She showed me...........the exact Badger 200 reboxed in a box with a see through window and equipped with a braided hose for a compressor. So they are still going to use Badger just revamped a little bit.

LOL. Seems like a joke that they fire-saled the others when there are such subtle differences.
