My biggest is probably Revell's F-15 D/E in 1/32. I haven't built it yet. I picked it up for about $8.00 at a local craft store. They used to have a few shelves for models but decided  to get rid of them so they had a clearing out sale. With the large size I would really like to detail it but first I need to get a few planes kits under my belt before I start.

I have two Revell 1/72 scale U- Boats and a bunch of photo etch to go with them. So they are both the most expensive and the biggest.       On the other hand I have a 1966 issue of Revells Pine Island seaplane tender thats worth $145.00 But I started it in 1995 and I messed it up so as soon as I fix it it will be worth $1.98!

Dont worry about the thumbprint, paint it Rust , and call it "Battle Damage"

My most expensive is the 1:400 Karel Doorman Dutch aircraft carrier. But when I take my biggest model and the after market stuff, the Tamiya 1:350 Yamato defnetly wins. The model was € 75, Eduard etching €50, Gun barrels was 3x €10 and zome small stuff also a total of about €50. So €210,- what is about $280,-

The Yamato is halfway his build, the Karel Doorman will be the next ...

On the bench: 1:350 Yamato + I-400, 1:48 F15 strike eagle...

My biggest and most valuable kit is a 1/8 scale Pocher Mercedes 500K molded in redfrom around 1980.  It was passed on to me when my friend Roger passed away several years ago. It is very rare because Pocher was not allowed to produce a red body version and was forced to stop the kit. I believe it is worth about $1,000.

My largest is probably a scratch built 1/25th scale Lombard log hauler pulling a pair of logging sleighs. its overall length is slightly more than 48". Other large kits would be the RoG Simba crash truck, RoG Neoplan Cityliner bus also the most expensive (about $150) and the AMT payhauler. All are 1/25th scale.

Most expensive?  Heck, if I pay more than $30 for one, it's too much!  I would have to say my 1/96 Saturn V (Revell's History Maker version).  It was $100 back in 1980 something when I bought it for myself for my birthday.

Biggest?  1/72 Shuttle with ET and boosters.

My largest model aircraft completed is my 1/72 scale B-*36 Peacemaker that's hanging on my ceiling, followed by my two completed B-52's. My largest unbuilt aircraft is my Trumpeter 1/72 scale Tu-160 Blackjack bomber.

May largest armor model is currently 96% assembled: My Hobby Boss 1/72 scale Dora railgun. I'd say that was my most expensive model as well.

Finally, in ships, I have the 1/350 scale Tamiya USS Enterprise that was given to me by a friend.

I also have a 1/12th scale 1911 Christie firetruck completed. That would be my largest automotive subject.

Those are my largest models in my collection and stash.

The largest would have to be the 1/9 scale Esci BMW R75.  the most expensive would be a special edition Fujimi  1/76th JadgTiger  it featured P/E engine screens and white metal spare tracks cost was $20 def. not worth the additional expense.

I have the Tu-142, a later version of the Bear in 1/72, and yes, the B-36 is larger, but not by much. I also have the Tu-160 Blackjack, (as mentioned) and is is at least as large, if not larger, than the B-36. So far, I haven't started either one of those. I really should; those boxes are huge. To date, the largest plane I've finished is the An-12 Cub, but my DC-6 is getting close and that is slightly bigger than the Cub.

Largest and most expensive are one and the same. Tamiya 1/32 F-14A, purchased when first released in the early 1980's. I,ve dragged it around through 3 states and a half dozen homes or more.

I've purchased *lots* of aftermarket accessories, decals and references over the years; but always worried that I wouldn't be able to do it justice. After seeing the cover article of the 1/32 F-4  in FSM a couple of months ago, I decided I needed to do something bigger than my recent 1/72.  Started the rescribing project a couple of months ago, and while it has moved off the bench to finish (and start) a couple of passion projects, I am committed to getting it underway in a serious way later this year.

Good Modeling,

Biggest is the 1/48th scale B-29 followed closely by a 32nd scale F-4 Phantom, a B-17 and B-24 and Lancaster in 48th scale and a Bf-109 and a P-51 and a Hurricane in 24th scale.  The most expensive is another 48th scale Tamiya Lancaster followed by a 32nd scale Tamiya P-51.

Largest: the Revell/Monogram 1/48 B-1. I stil do not have a clue where to put that monster if I build it (fortunatly I have 150+ other kits waiting in the stash)

Most expensive, probably my Azur 1/32 Polikarpov I-16. Not that expensive but I buy all my kits cheap at verndor tables or at sales. For instance, I have paid only € 10,- for the Hasegawa Ki-84 Hayate "visible edition" with PE and white metal. I think the retail price would be much higher.

I to have been working on a monster, 1/35 Dora railway gun. I am about 75% done, but every time I think I am getting ahead I add more scratch builling items that someone has done, and I try to improve mine. As for the cost it was purchase on E-Bay in total for $635. I think this was a great buy.

I know what you're going through; I've been working in the 1/72 scale version of this monster. Though not as wildly detailed and complicated as yours, it is still a long and heavy project. I've finally gotten mine to the painting stage.

I don't know if this counts but...... I am combining several 35 scale kits together.  Trumpeter BR-52, K5 Leopold, Karl Morser with Railway carriages, two gondolas and two flatcars all loaded with various stuff ( Tamiya field kitchen, AA guns and various resin from Black Dog).  When finished it will be 12 foot 8 and with figures and extras and a scratch built track I hope to break 10,000 pieces.   Price will be close to $750 and three years of enjoyment.  Would have liked to go bigger, but ran out of wall.
