I got this today as well. Did any Canadian order recently from Squadron?

Last time I placed an order, last fall, even if they said they will ship USPS (that means no scam "customs processing fees" by courier companies) I still got an invoice for over $30 from Fedex.

I was a bit baffled that Fedex knew that I got a package from Squadron, but then I remembered that I read somewhere about a service where Fedex picks up the package and delivers it to USPS, which does the delivery to the customer. So even if USPS and Canada Post did the work, Fedex is charging me $30. Squadron made good on that fee, top customer service there, but I really would not order again if it means Fedex is again involved.

I will call Squadron tomorrow morning if I can, to try and find out.

I thought they had quit using that "FedEx to USPS" nonsense sometime ago.  At least, they have discontinued that here in the states.  It's called "SmartMail", and it saves the shipper a few dollars, but costs you about an extra week in delivery time.  A bunch of customers complained to Squadron, and they listened, and went back to FedEx home delivery.

It pays to complain!

The same happened to me, but the Fedex brokerage bill was over 1/2 the price of the order.  The big problem was that everything in my order had a different country of origin.  Can't slag Squadron, because it was Fedex I had to pay, but I'll be careful abouit what I order from them.

I build 1/48 scale WW2 fighters.

Have fun.

Ditto.  The only thing they carry that I want is out of stock.  I think they planned it that way.

I dunno, I just spent something like $170 and it was all new stuff I wanted, mostly Dragon armor, and I mean just released stuff, and all in stock too.  Free shipping, no tax and discounted, I'm pretty happy.  Just thought I'd put out some positive waves here.

There was plenty that I wanted but budget limited me to a few 1/72 resin items, a couple of paint brushes and a Revell 1/72 Heinkel He 115.

I have always been pleased when ordering from Squadron.  Had a minor mixup once, but it was immediately resolved via personal e-mails with the customer service manager.  And they do have some great sales from time to time.

It seems the problems mentioned above are due to regulations on shipments to other countries, and not Squadron's doing.
