HI , MODELERS :
I was having my morning coffee and it hit me like a ton of bricks (and I don't mean LEGOS either !) . Years ago , oh about in the fifties .I wanted to spray cars , armor (those beautiful MONOGRAM kits .) and planes too . I went to BURDINE'S (a MIAMI equivelant to MACYS back then .) I went to the ladies parfum section .(That;s the way they spelled it !) They had these neat little bottles with the little squeeze bulbs on the top .Remember them ?
Well , I bought two of them .I took them home and loaded one with my favorite paint (PACTRA MANDARIN RED ) for a sports car( REVELL'S AUSTIN HEALEY ) I was building . I actually was able to get a fairly decent spray job on that car .No RUNS and no FUZZIES ! I guess the reason I thought of it . My compressor decided it was time to die .(it's darned near forty years old .)Does anyone remember the W.R.BROWN alternative to the BADGER compressor ?
They were practically twins .Well , that's the one I've been using all this time . It died and cannot be resurrected . Hmm , What to do now .I found those two spritz bottles in a box with my art gear . I finished spraying with those and the ship I am working on is coming out alright .
Funny how something from the past bailed me out . Now for a new compressor .Which one do you fellows and ladies recommend ? Oh , I'll have to replace those spritz bottles too, the little bulbs are kinda stiff .
Just wanted to hit you with that and see how anyone else figured out a way to spray BEFORE cans . It was a challenge at first , but , when I figured out how , they worked pretty darned good . Tanker-builder
