Use of LIQUID SURFACE PRIMER - a question

  I hear you .That is why I have a Large sheet of Evergreen to test on .I've gotten some nasty surprises I'll tell you . The thing is if you work with a brand and it does all you want it to do , I stick with it .I use Krylon primer exclusively on cars and ships .So far no problem , except the decanting for airbrushing .

I've been finding that to be true lately, too.

One of the big problems these days is that in addition to enamel, lacquer, and acrylic paint, we now have acrylic lacquer and acrylic enamel.  Trying to figure out what is compatible with what these days is a real nightmare.  Especially since some of the acrylic laquers and acrylic enamels are merely labeled "lacquer" or "enamel" on the can.

WARNING!!! It will NOT work with REGULAR lacquer paints, like 'Model Car World" brand lacquer paints for shiny auto finishes! I ruined a vintage $150.oo AMT AMX Javelin kit b trying to spray a "hot" lacquer over the Tamiya "Fine White Primer". It is NOT resistant enough to endure PURE lacquers---Tamiya's paints are a lacquer-acrylic hybrid, so they're not as strong.

Get a lacquer primer at an auto store for spraying pure lacquers.
