Found a great shop in Huntsville, AL-RC Hobby Barn-don't let the name fool you-great kit selection, supplies and the prices are good.  Will give me somewhere to visit when we go to visit the in-laws there.....

They're going out of business.  Ugh!!!  You just hate hearing stuff like that.  They Owner and his wife (& teenage son) were great to deal with.

Bob, if you get a chance, hit the HobbyTown USA store in Murfreesboro, on Thompson lane

they are going out of business and are selling off everything at a minimum of 25% off,,,,,,,you can get MM Acrylics and PollyScale Railroad Acrylics cheaper that way (ask at the desk for the Acrylic RR, they are in a separate section)

fwiw, I made contact with Hudson Classic Hobbies in Nashville-web site looks like they carry the supplies I want and the phone conversation confirmed that he carries MM Acrylic-will be paying him a visit here in the near future.

Phillips has a good selection of Tamiya paints-but no thinner Confused...nice selection of models but a bit pricey.

Loved the Hobbytown USA in Murfreesboro. We had our club meeting every Monday at close and he gave us a good little discount.  Great experience.  I moved to Tampa and went to the Hobbytown on Dale Mabry.  It felt like I was bothering him to ask for anything.  He was more into the RC stuff.

now that y'all have a different date for your show,,,,,,,it won't clash with the Murfreesboro show any more,,,,,,,Anne has graciously granted me a date for your show up there in May (Anne and I always go to the shows together as a date)

that is if there are aircraft categories in it, anyway

I am going to try and drag Capt Phil (owner of the closed Smyrna hobby shop) up there with us, as well

guys, come on up to Louavull - Scale Reproductions is a pretty good place and there is a HobbyTown about 8-10 miles further east. I'll buy the coffee. We can give Rob G. a shout and have a party.

Thanks Rex-I have driven by Phillips a couple of times the last few days.  Will stop in for a quick check.

Glad that Hobby Lobby has started carrying Tamiya supplies and Vallejo paints, along with MM Acrylics..I have enough kits in the stash to do me for awhile.

Thanks for the heads up on the closed shops-I had them flagged for a visit.

Would love to make the Murfreesboro show but we hope to be moving into our condo on the 15th-don't know if I will have the time....will make an effort though....I'll let you know at the end of the day on the 15th.

our mom and pop hobby shops have all gone away (the last one closed the beginning of summer)

we have Phillips Toy Store's small model and paint section on the corner of Harding Road and Harding Place,,,,,,and a HobbyTown in Murfreesboro on Thompson Lane,a HobbyTown in  Mt Juliet on Hwy 171 near the Wal Mart,,,,,,some Hobby Lobbys are scattered around in Murfreesboro on Old Fort Pkwy, one by Rivergate Mall, and one on Old Hickory Blvd

If your search shows Aardvark or Smyrna Toy and Hobby, those are both closed now

best "local" hobby shops are up in Louisville, KY,,,,,,,,,and over in Memphis, TN

Welcome to the area,,,,,come to the Murfreesboro show and maybe we will meet

Rex

the show is at ipmsmt.wordpress.com/contest-2013  click the dropdowns for the map, etc

Relocating Relocated to Nashville, TN and leaving a really good LHS in WV.....

Although I can live with Hobby Lobby for paint & such and Squadron/Sprue Brothers, I would like to find a good hobby shop within an hour drive.

Thanks in advance
