Just a note asking all of you out there a special favor, a moment for a fallen Marine from my home town.

Combat Engineer LCpl Matthew Rodriques was killed in Afghanistan last week, while on a combat op. This 19yo kid graduated high school in 2012, and joined the USMC, hoping he could do his part, and contribute some good in this world. He leaves a mother, father, and younger brother behind, as well as a young lady he had planned to wed.

As a member of the Honor Guard, It was my sad duty, honor, and privilege to meet his body at the airport and escort it to the local funeral home. I will also be there for his funeral / burial on Monday morning.

I ask all of you to take a moment to say a prayer for this fallen hero, and the loved ones he left behind. Also keep in mind the heroes who are still out there, who all hope to return safely to their families, especially at this time of the year.

Thanks............... JB
